And the Stonewall Bigot of the Year is awarded to..

His Grace really wasn't going to post on this tedious matter, but the Ecclesial Vermin has accused Christian Concern of putting out a 'highly spun' version of the facts (ie lying), and the God and Politics UK blog has accused them of not presenting truth accurately (ie lying), so here are the facts:

1. Stonewall is holding an awards ceremony:
...to celebrate the outstanding contribution of individuals and groups towards lesbian, gay and bisexual equality, in the past year.

Date: 1 November 2012 Venue: Victoria & Albert Museum
Tickets: £155 plus VAT
Start: 6.45pm
Dress: Cocktail

Taking place in the magnificent Raphael Gallery of the Victoria & Albert Museum, this year’s Awards exemplify the individuals and organisations which are critical in ensuring a positive representation of gay people in the media today, one of Stonewall’s key priorities.

Guests will enjoy a champagne and canapé reception before moving through for the presentation, hosted by Gok Wan. Winners in ten categories will include Politician of the Year and Entertainer of the Year and will be voted on by our panel of judges – Broadcaster Alice Arnold; Channel 4 News Culture Editor Matthew Cain; England rugby star Ben Cohen; Author Val McDermid and UK Black Pride MD Phyll Opoku-Gyimah.

The evening continues until 10.30pm with more champagne, food and entertainment.
2. The event is officially sponsored by:

3. The list of awards clearly includes that of 'Bigot of the Year', and the nominees are:

4. Christian Concern drew attention to this fact.
Those nominated for Stonewall's 'Bigot of the Year' award include a Cardinal, an Archbishop, a member of the House of Lords and the former leader of the Christian Peoples Alliance. They have all spoken out against government plans to redefine marriage and want marriage to remain defined as the life long, exclusive commitment between a man and a woman – a position shared by up to 70% of the population...

Do these big British businesses really want to associate with such behaviour? Do their customers, employees, shareholders, Directors or the general public know what these companies are supporting? Let’s make sure that they do. The bullying needs to stop!
5. Some of these sponsors are now claiming ignorance of this award, and attempting to disassociate themselves from it.

It might be observed that they are doing so only as a result of the negative publicity following the campaign to highlight the bullying and bigoted nature of the 'Bigot of the Year' award.

6. This award is by far the most high-profile and attracts significant media attention every year.

It is for that precise reason that Stonewall consistently go for high-profile journalists, celebrities or church leaders (how many Muslims have been nominated? Perhaps because it would frighten off the sponsors?..). Some Christian Bloggers and Tweeters might consider how one may sponsor the Academy Awards but claim to disassociate oneself specifically from the Oscar awarded to Best Actor.

7. One cannot.

8. Ergo, those companies who are sonsporing the Stonewall awards are sponsoring the 'Bigot of the Year' award.

Their logos are featured prominently on the Stonewall website, beneath the award page heading. The fact that their names are identified with specific awards in the typed information below is of no consequence. Visually, visitors to that page get the Stonewall Awards banner juxtaposed by the sponsors' logos. The association is evident.

9. His Grace contacted the V&A some weeks ago. Unlike Exeter College Oxford, they responded:
Dear Dr. Cranmer,
Thank you for your email. This event is a corporate hire using the V&A as a venue - it is not a V&A hosted event. The Museum is completely independent of the opinions of people or organisations who book our corporate spaces.
Kind regards
Olivia
10. If you want to accuse His Grace of 'highly spinning' or propagating 'inaccurate information', please do so in love.

And please also keep this in perspective, because some of those named companies are guilty of far worse crimes and more serious misdemeanours than throwing a few thousand quid at a self-congratulatory, bigoted gay-fest.

His Grace, I feel you've missed the point.

CC was quite clearly saying that Barclays was supporting the bigot award.

They aren't. They're supporting the Sports award.

So for CC to try and attack Barclays and encourage others to do the same is wrong.

That may seem like a minor point in the grand scheme of things, but CC are starting to get a reputation for dodgy press releases. I agree with GodandPolitics and Mouse. It's highly spun.

Sam, the point is clearly that the sponsors are supporting an organisation, event and awards ceremony that is itself bigoted by the very presence of a Bigot of the Year award.

Do you think for a moment that Barclays et al would be present sponsoring an event if one of the parallel awards was the 'God Hates Fags' medal? Do you think any members of Barclays attending will simply arrive at the start of their award and depart once the gewgaw is handed over to the winner?

No. The sponsors are complicit in an act of bigotry and should be publicly excoriated for it regardless of any press release from Christian Concern.

Utar Efson makes excellent points. I rather suspect that these companies haven't given much thought to the sponsorship. The money is not a lot to them, and they probably just wanted to be associated with Stonewall. Perhaps they are genuinely unaware of the famous 'bigot' award, but such ignorance is itself culpable.

Glad to hear that the V&A are happy to host any organisation that will simply pay them the money.

On Stonewall's website (awards homepage) there is no differentiation made as to which sponsors are sponsoring which event; it simply says 'Supported by'. Credit to Stonewall for coming out openly with its disparaging view of anyone daring to question gay-mafia ideology, but you, I'm afraid, are dancing on the head of a bent pin.

Paul
Gong Wok – really? A homosexual with a lifelong weight problem who for reasons known only to the Great God of Gayness is now considered to be a suitable ambassador for middle aged women who (perhaps understandably) lack the desire to walk about in public with their knockers out. If I were a woman I might hold out for a second opinion.

I remember watching the atrocious Wok address a roomful of bemused teenagers – his mission, to stamp out homophobia wherever he made it up. "What kind of nasty names do we use to talk about gay people?" he challenged. Not much of a reaction so he tested a few out "Poof? Nancy boy? Bender?" "Who here knows a gay person?" he asked. "Well, you do now" he revealed, bravely, pointing at himself. He then led the class in a round of applause, for himself. Go sister…

Defamation
I remember posting on this, on 8th October under the story 'Gay marriage debate pulled from Tory Conference', mentioning the Bigot of the Year Award. I made the point that publically insulting someone (for example, by calling them a 'bigot') could land you in court defending an action for defamation, especially so if the defamed person had some public standing where their loss of reputation would be all the more serious.

Would it not be joy if one of the 'bigots' took successful action in the High Court against Stonewall, with the sponsors cited as co-defendants? Perhaps Your Grace could sow the seed, or does suggesting this make me, also, a bigot?

These people have not been nominated because they are opposed to gay marriage, as other more high profile opponents like Carey and Setentu have not been nominated.

I suspect that Tartaglia has been nominated because he said that gay MP David Cairn's death from pancreatitis was linked to his homosexuality. He also repeated the much debunked claim that gay peopel have a shorter life psan than straight people.

If you repeatedly lie about a group in order to denigrate them then you are a bigot, plain and simple, however much you lot moan and whinge about it and accuse Stonewall of slander.

Tartaglia is an opponent of gay marriage – it is his opinion and expressing it does not make him a bigot any more than your remarks about him make you a bigot. His remarks about said gay MP, made in a debate about religious freedom, may have been untrue and hurtful, but that just makes him wrong, and not automatically a bigot for being so.

Talk about us moaning and whinging…

155 Pounds for a ticket! This is an outrage and definately a bigoted Gay statement to keep the unwashed hetrosexual lower classes from attending this snooty event taking place in a building largely kept afloat by tax payer money.

A lot of "queens" will be at this event. We can certain the genuine artcle won't show up.

It's odd no Muslim anti Gay radicals were on this list of bigots of the year. Anjem Choudry would be a good choice. Also, the anti Gay trio Ihjaz Ali, Kabir Ahmed and Razwan Javed who were the first to be prosecuted under new laws against inciting hatred on the grounds of sexual orientation in the UK this past year.

Why is this event being held in the Raphael Room at the V & A? A better choice there would be the "Cast Courts" where plaster and metal replica's of hunky male nudes are all over the place including an exact replica of Michelangelo's David (minus the origial fig leaf) and two other Davids. One by Donatello and another David by Verrocchio. What a photo op it would be handing out these Stonewall anti bigot awards in front of Michelangelo's David.

I wonder how all the Christophobes will feel the night of the event sitting at their tables in a room full of Raphael madonnas and his other Biblical paintings looking down on them?

Fellows, let us embrace this nonsense radiating from them that do not appreciate the boy / girl difference. The English language continually develops and we do need a word that encapsulates a desire not to see what’s left of what we hold dear go down the road of a genderless society. Let us therefore go out and purchase our tasteful enamel badges that portray the word [BIGOT].

Now, we all know that teenage fashion is important. Well, it is to teenagers if no one else. And they want to be different from the grown ups. So with that in mind, one suggests [YOUNG BIGOT]. This should help our school children leave the class when Terence Higgin’s people show up at sex education with pictures of various objects rammed up a man’s behind.

And finally, for the old guard, Inspectors General included, we have in gilt, [UNCOMPROMISING BIGOT]…

That should get the message across and help defeat the uprising, what !

To be counter-cultural for a moment. There is something whiny about this complaint.

The war over homosexuality is fundamentally a war of conflicting presuppositions about the nature of man. It therefore cannot be resolved by argument. It can ultimately only be resolved by force. Currently this takes the form of public stimatization. These 'Bigot of the Year' awards are meant to publicly stigmatize those who would make the assertion that homosexuality is a moral fault. The intent is to drive that opinion from the public square by the application of public scorn.

But this must be the case in any argument like this. One side or the other must be publicly stigmatized because there exists no neutral position between "Homosexuality is a moral perversion" and "Homosexuality is a natural good." People in the Public square must act on either the one assumption or the other. The answer determines which side gets stigmatized. Because it's not like we are trying to make the world safe for public expressions of homosexuality. We are trying to maintain boundaries on sexual behavior that preclude such public expressions. We would do exactly what they are doing - stigmatize the opposition. It's inherent in the conflicting morality. Either homosexuality is a perversion or we are bigots.

So that's why this comes across as whiny to me. "Mom, they called us names!" Well, for goodness sake. We say homosexuality is a sexual perversion. Do we complain when we receive what we would freely give?

I would ideally prefer it if we didn't have to call each other names. I also don't think consensual sex necessarily includes a moral character - it can just be - so I'm slightly different from you.

However, it's also worth bearing in mind that stigmatising the opposition is a good way of rallying your troops. Anyone who has any doubt about who is most effective in the name calling and stigmatising game need only look at the well- trodden, moral panic- strewn path of the Republican Party in the US elections.

Jon. You’ve missed the point. The Inspector was not laughing at the misfortune of the poor wretch, but of the idea of a long line of gay men waiting to photographed with a damn noose round their necks !

Bit of history for you. In the nineteenth century, it was the responsibility of the prison governor to accommodate the hangman if he came from a distance. This started off as paying for a room at a local inn. As time went on, some of these governors were far from amused when in the morning the hangman would turn up for his duties the worse for drink. The custom then became that the governor would accommodate the man in his own household. With the servants.

Now, you only use a rope for execution once. And a further tradition developed. The hangman would present the rope to the governor as a souvenir. When the Inspector read this, he imagined, if the governor had a young family, the man throwing it to the children to be used as a play thing.

pip pip !

Sorry. I thought I made an excellent point and gave good examples. My point was that this party at the V&A handing out the 2012 "bigot awards" ignored some of the worst Gay haters around: Muslims in your country. The ones I listed and others like them. They want to kill you because you are Gay.

The cost to by a ticket for this event is outrageous. Glad to see rich queens and others of your ilk are being ripped off.

By the way. Do you even know where the name "Stonewall" comes from which this event is named after? Answer: the "Stonewall Riots" by Gays in the Greenwich Village neighborhood in New York City in 1969. It seems tensions between Gays and the police over the issues of Gay bars and loitering and making noice in the streets late at night came to a head that summer. An enraged mob of transvestites, old queens, male hustlers, drag queens, and hairdressers attacked the police with their purses and threw lipstick cases, and high heeled shoes. Then they screamed bitchy insults at the cops while trying to scratch their eyes out. That was enough. Those tough NYC Irish coppers weren't used to this sort of nonsense and moved in with their billy clubs and the rest is history. :)

Or is this more about scoring petty points.

Wouldn't it be amazing if all those nominated were to attend and go up, en masse, to receive the award, followed by an evangelistic acceptance speech!

Of course, the reason why these companies are sponsoring the event has nothing to do with being pro-gay. Just as, in the same way, the boss of Starbucks has come out in favour of SSM in America. They are all merely looking out for their financial future success and, given that the "pink pound" is in the ascendency they are merely looking to get a look in with prospective customers.
The sad irony is that this is the sort of thing that atheists would tend to be in favour of, apart from the fact that it goes against the call for a secular society. Because, at the end of the day, a secular society is one where people's personal politics are supposed to be kept to the private sphere and thus companies would not be taking a stand in the political sphere. They would stick to doing their job and advertising the old-fashioned way, via media!

As an account holder with Barclays I am sorely tempted to withdraw my custom. Sadly I currently hold a loan with them and there are scant few other options to go for in terms of truly reputable banks (not that I am saying Barclays is or isn't reputable, merely a comment on the others).

Thank you for your concern. Hurricane Sandy continues dumping heavy rain on my small town but the winds have slowed down. This was nothing compared to the damage 300 miles east of here in the NYC area. The temperature outside tonight is almost freezing which adds to the discomfort. Only 50 miles southeast of here Hurricane Sandy suddenly met a cold front over the Appalachian Mountains resulting in 3 - 4 feet of snow stretching falling along a line almost 300 miles over from here in Pennsylvania southeast over West Virginia. A staggering amount of snow over a 24 hour period. This afternoon I saw cars covered with snow heading north on the interstate(our name for your A motorway system). For those along the coast this storm, destructive as it was, was not as strong as predicted That is a one blessing. Most of the New York City subway system in Manhattan and other boroughs is completely flooded. What a mess. I pity those on the coast who have to clean up after the storm especially if it turns cold and they have snow.

What do you know of morality? Its different from ethics. Call me old fashioned, the acts you so vividly describe on here and proudly boast you personally engage in, are, to any right minded person, morally degenerate - look where they might lead if the THT'S website is anything to go by.

As for me? Well, a few false ID's on a blog, well over a year ago now, are hardly grave or serious acts.

Get over yourself!

You should let go of your anger and hate. You know, bitterness and holding grudges are not worth the candle, please believe me on that.

I have met a few people who have rage and anger, but no one who is so young, but you can still turn to the light and lead a better path.

You asked me how I managed to raise my niece? The answer is because we are a close nit family, who sticks together.

Anyway, I look forward to the day when you let go of your anger, perhaps then we can have a mature discussion.

Until that day...

Inspector, Dodo, Cressida, etc, I appreciate that there are different sects within Christianity with quite different interpretations of some of the core stuff but surely the notion of the 'holy spirit' is essentially common? When you're as vile as you are here, and presumably elsewhere too, where does your bit of this 'holy spirit' go? Does it flee for a while in disgust, coming back to poke your consciences later? Can you feel that? If so then do the pokes get stronger or weaker each time as you ignore them? I say ignore because you're actively pursuing a destructive, aggressive theme and strategy rather than trying hard and failing to live up to a Christian ideal. Of course, from where I'm standing your alleged Christianity is just cultural stuff so your ungodly behaviour is to be expected. However, you must recognise that a 'holy spirit' thing is at least wishful thinking for those identifying as Christian if nothing else and so you look very much at odds with it all from the outside. Doesn't that bother you at all?

Just a thought, but I can remember that it has in the past been commented that homosexuality has a higher representation in politics and the media than their percentage in the population. Following on from the revelations in the Telegraph that Labour, in the dying days of the last govt, got key lefties into positions within various charities and lobbying bodies, I wonder if this was Gordon Brown merely copying what seems to have been the method of the likes of Stonewall. "Infiltrate" and bring change through the corridors of power.
It is the politics game and, to be fair, we Christians do not play it well. We get angry when our beliefs are mocked (as can be seen above), we get angry when debates get heated, due to our passion for what we speak for (as can be seen above) and we lose. Perhaps it is time for Christians to actually take a leaf out of Stonewall's book and seek to change a system that is slowly going to the dogs. So often when Christians talk about vocation they are referring to working for a church. But why not see bringing Christ to political parties, Fleet Street, the BBC etc?
As someone who IS working for a church, I know that we could do with more people to make the work easier, but it would be made even easier if the country was changed! Evangelise to the nation, through the work place, and bring about change. It seems an almost ridiculously silly suggestion as it is almost too easy to think that it would work. But if people don't try, how will we ever find out?

Amazingly, Stonewall is still a charity and claims tax relief as well as getting lavish sponsorship from banks. It has never been eligible for charitable status as it has always campaigned to change laws. It has been linked to a huge paedophile scandal in Scotland in 2007. And still the charity status goes unchallenged.
Please read, sign and circulate this petition against Stonewall's unfair charity status:-
https://secure.avaaz.org/en/petition/Make_Stonewall_Pay_Its_Taxes/

The banks are sponsoring the whole event therefore they cannot claim they are not sponsoring the boorish rudeness and intolerance of the "Bigot" award. Happily some of them are slightly retreating from this now. But we must campaign for true "equality" - not privilege for homosexuals.

@ Mark. It happens to be true that homosexuals have a shorter life-expectancy than heterosexuals. Tartaglia was correct in that pancreatitis is one of the side-effects of anti-retroviral drugs given to HIV patients and it is very rare for such a young man to die of it otherwise.
Many links are provided on this site, all academic research confirming that gays die young:-
http://www.godandscience.org/doctrine/homosexuality.html

One 2002 report by Dr. John R. Diggs titled The Health Risks of Gay Sex found that sexual relationships between members of the same sex “expose gays, lesbians and bisexuals to extreme risks of sexually transmitted dis- eases (STDs), physical injuries, mental disorders and even a shortened life span.” The report found that “common sexual practices among gay men lead to numerous STDs and physical injuries, some of which are virtually unknown in the heterosexual population.” The report also found that “gay and bisexual men lose up to 20 years of life expectancy”. Diggs concluded that it is “clear that there are serious medical consequences to same-sex behavior.”

Letting them out of the closet was like opening Pandora's Box. They are becoming pests. I don't care what they do but do so long as they do it in their bedrooms and not in the streets and I wish they would stop crying their about how persecuted and abused they are. Their in your face attitude is also getting to be anoying and is not making the radicals and those that identify with them popular.

Butch Lesbians have the nastiest attitude of all Gays people. We lived in an apartment in the early 70's with 4 Lesbians as neighbors. It was the height of the feminist era and Lesbians were in Lesbo heaven. When we moved in they asked my wife who we were voting for in 72. She said Nixon. That began our two year war with the butch radical feminist Lesbian neighbors. Two of them, both stocky and well built and wearing crew cuts, could have easily beat the hell out of me so I was careful. I am 6' 190 lbs but those two dykes were tough looking broads.

It's ironic your saying that given that most of the Christian lobby groups are pushing the narrative that Christians are being persecuted in the UK, and insisting that instead of keeping religious habits to churches and private homes they have the right to bring it into the workplace, onto the streets, and throughout their daily lives irrespective of the rest of us. What's to stop people complaining in the same tone that Christians won't shut up about their religiosity, shoving it in people's faces and trying to put obligations on others in an irritating and intrusive way? Imagine the uproar of victims of crime nominating category Award for Most Unhappy Ethic for 2005 to 'Mohammad Sidique Khan, Shehzad Tanweer, Germaine Lindsay and Hasib Hussain'. Create a bit of a WhooHar what!

We are starting to gather that so long as you have the support of Police, Politico land and powerful lobby groups you can almost say anything if you are todays 'black'!

May I remind you that your country has a state religion the Anglican Church and the Queen is the Supreme Govenor of that State Church. The flag of the UK is made up of crosses that symbolize England, Scotland,Ireland, a person can't travel more than a few miles in England and not see either a medieval church, a great cathedral, or buildings in the Medieval Gothic style of architecture which was the dominant style of building used by the Church during the Middle Ages even for secular buildings.

Christianity is shouting at you every dirction you turn in your country yet you have total freedom to be Gay and do as you please within limits like everyone else of course.

What next? Radical Gays demanding your country erase all these past physical reminders of Christianity "shouting" at you from every direction you turn because Christianity believes Gay sexual behavior is a sinful behavior?

If so, what is "Lordy" then (a reference to the Lordship of Christ)? Or "Crikey" (another shortened corruption of Christ the King)?

Admit it, you're visiting a conservative Christian site because you're the one who's conflicted. And focussing on Catholics in particular because we express a consistent message about the morally disordered nature of homosexuality.

Why isn't equality good enough for radical Gays? Isn't what radical Gays really desire is special treatment and privilidges as well as the chance to influence the courts and use the liberal media along with the pop culture cultural to brainwash the young even in our schools? All this is meant to try and redefine the direction of Western Christian Civilization to suit your political and minority sexual identity needs.

You are a cog in the wheel of those leftists and Marists who use Gays for their own political ends. Can't you see this? Their political obsession is to destroy 3,000 years of our Greco-Roman-Judeo-Christian Civilization and replace it something the majority does not want: another try at an anti Christian Marxist hell on earth like the failed USSR this time allied with Islam.

The alliance with Isalm part should perk up the ears of all Gays.

It's safe to assume 95% of the conservatives and traditionalists here do not want Gays discriminated against or persecuted. I don't. We just want you to stop trying to change the majority society into what you want it to become which the rest of us do not want, find offensive, and is against our moral codes.

The article about the "Stonewall Bigots Award" is just one more example of the intolerance of the left and radical gays when they get a chance to flaunt their own bigotry especially at Roman Catholicism and traditional Protestants. The left has absolutley no concept of tolerance when they get in the drivers seat and take over our popular culture and eventually our entire society. We see this everywhere today.

Again, there's irony there. Fringe 'right-wing' Christians want to maintain their legacy religious hegemony with its privileges and special treatment in the UK despite it essentially being a minority private interest now. The Catholic Church is desperate to maintain control of its schools in order to try to brainwash children with its minority religious worldview here. Of course, in doing so it opens the way for Islam to do the same thing. Christianity in the UK is a dying thing, merely maintaining itself through the economic immigration of cultural Catholics from places like Poland at the moment.

"We just want you to stop trying to change the majority society into what you want it to become which the rest of us do not want, find offensive, and is against our moral codes."

The opinion polls show significant support for homosexual equality, and those who oppose same-sex marriage are in a clear minority in the UK.

Why should the rest of us particularly care about your moral code? Most of us are not practising Christians. Your moral code is by definition incorrect for non-Christians. Do you care about the moral code of Muslims other than to try to limit the possible damage it mght cause? We collectively care about ethics though and that's what is being changed. As for stuff you find offensive, why should we particularly care about that either? Grow some balls! People find stuff offensive all the time but we're a diverse liberal society over here and so it's just part and parcel of being British.

"You are a cog in the wheel of those leftists and Marists whouse Gays for their own political ends. Can't you see this"

His Grace's post about Hurricane Sandy and how Democrats seem better at compassion than Republicans should be instructive for you. Compassion (when it is authentic) comes from a desire to help and see a condition alleviated.

If you genuinely believed that gay people were going to hell and wanted to help, you would be reaching out and trying to understand why people display what Dodo calls an "objective disorder". Instead, you sneer and insult. And then you expect gay people to see in you a God of love and compassion who forgives? I don't care - insult me all you like, but you must see what your insults do to your ministry?

HG's post about Hurricane Sandy said absolutely nothing. I thought it was a sad joke. Just because Obama shows up for a photo op after a Hurricane what does that mean? The Republican Govenor of New Jersey in the state where that picture was taken is doing the dirty work in the face of this disaster.

Obama's true "compassion" was at it's "best" when he voted TWICE while a Senator in the State of Illinois to allow babies born in "botched abortions" in Illinois to be set in a room at a hospital to die alone and in the dark. Those tiny living babies would have had no one to hug them while they died a slow death from starvation and thirst and they could have thanked Obama for allowing them to die alone with no hugs had the law passed.

I don't want to hear about the compassionate "St Obama" either when last month he abandoned 4 of his citizens, an Ambassador (who was sodomized and then brutally murdered by al Quaeda terrorists) along with three other employees of the USA Embassy in Lybia. These people died at the hands of brutal al-Quaeda terrorists while Obama heard the events live in the conference room at the WH and knew of their plight from the beginning of the attack with help not far away in Tripoli and at a USA Naval Air Station in Sicily and Obama did nothing. He lied and continued to lie that it was a Youtube movie that caused that event and the events in Cairo, Egypt by Muslim mobs on the anniversary of 911. If any Republican President had abandoned his people at an embassy to face brutal deaths and did absolutley nothing when he had more than enough time a Republican President would have had to resign. Obama as usual gets a pass for his total incompetency. Obama is a traitor and should be on trial for dereliction of duty as Commander in Chief of his military and government employees.

One of the largest volunteer groups to rush to the aid of people after Hurricane Sandy is the Baptist TV Evangelist Pat Robertson's "Operation Blessing" based in Virginia who have been sending trucks full of food and other needed items as well as church volunteers from neighboring states to the affected areas. I don't see one single liberal Hollywood friend of Obama volunteering to help the victims of this storm. Do you see on the BBC the help these Protestant volunteers giving help and aid to those in need after Hurricane Sandy hit? No. All you see Obama giving a few people a hug and then he rushes back to the WH and a game of golf.

It's interesting to note Obama's Hollywood pals held a hudge Halloween party in uptown Manhattan the night the Hurricane hit the city.

President Obama can't even give money to help is half brother in Kenya who lives on a few pounds a month and lives in a shack.

Over a million people south of here in West Virginia are in the midst of a blizzard with as much as 4 ft of snow with 60 mph winds. Whole towns cut off and isolated, farms have no electicity, people are REALLY suffering I don't see photos of Obama going there (it's only a few hundred miles west of Washington) hugging those people.

The people in West Virginia are used to caring for themsleves as is their tradition. These people are not far from my town and churches here are rushing food and volunteers 100 miles south to help these people. I don't see liberals rushing to help them. Certainly no Hollywood pals of Obama.

Maybe Obama doesn't want the fact Hurricane Sandy, which was supposedly caused by "global warming" or "climate change", also caused these terrible blizzards?

Or because the people of West Virginia are 99% white farmers and coal miners?

Jon. If you genuinely believed that gay people were going to hell and wanted to help, you would be reaching out and trying to understand why people display what Dodo calls an "objective disorder". + A few other moans…

First, One has always held a consistent line here. There is no one alive that can say whether gay people go to hell. Personally, one believes you have to do a great deal more to deserve eternal damnation than a bit of sinning of the flesh. Being a militant homosexual campaigner. Now, yes , that would do it.

Second. Gay people are part of creation. To deny them is to criticize the wisdom of God. This man is a God fearing Christian.

Third. What do you think yours truly does on gay orientated posts. He wants to HELP people. Pointing out the follies of going against nature resulting in high infection rates and emotional distress and madness is part of that. “The truth is, the pox is out there”, to paraphrase a famous TV series.

Fourth. Gays want to change society to benefit gays. That’s bloody well tough. At just 1.5%, there is just not enough of you to justify it. It’s like demolishing the grand steps outside St Pauls and replacing them with wheelchair ramps. You’ll just have to use another entrance. Which is a rather apt way to end this rant.

Postscript. Before the National Association of Cripples and Allied Incapacities comes on, the Inspector has absolutely NO problem with the disabled, or disability access WITHIN REASON, so don’t even consider it…

Damn. Had I not highlighted your unconscious mental tic, you'd have inadvertantly suggested they use the rear entrance by now. :(

DanJ0, have you ever considered self applied chemical castration. No more perverse thoughts, and people you know might actually be glad to see you...

Inspector I think you should be wary of giving advice of this nature to a vulnerable person of fractured feeble intellect. It is possible that danjo might take your advice and then you would be responsible for him becoming a castrato. How could you live with this guilt?

Cressida. One notes that two men dropped dead in a gay sauna this week. A third is being sought. Probably a drugs thing say investigators. The things these fellows resort to to make their sad lives endurable.

I agree with cressida on this one and her appraisal of the risks of a DIY approach. It has to be approached delicately.

This procedure could be available on the NHS following counselling. I feel this much more responsible advice.

Yep - you're all heart! I'm staggered that you've not outsold Billy Graham with your rallies, you really are an example to the kids. With your love and compassion, I'm rather surprised you aren't hugging the survivors of superstorm Sandy yourself. Where would we be without your sage advice, carefully chosen words and compassion, Inspector?!

John Magee - Plenty of Republican presidents have abandoned men at their posts, so hush with your hysteria. Just ask the CIA about the men and women they leave behind when they become inconvenient. Even Mitt Romney stopped pressing this line when he realised he looked a fool. It's interesting it's taken you rather longer to see the same.

I'm curious, though. You're a Christian. True or false - Hurricane Sandy was part of God's plan?

Inspector - were you the third man in the sauna? I can only assume you've picked it up from pink news, to which you are a curiously avid subscriber. Pray tell - did you ever answer DanJ0's question about whether you're a failed catholic?

Cressida, whatever you "think" (if that's the right word to describe your slavish adherence to the self- justifying utterances of an aging ex- Nazi) I think the objective reader would consider DanJ0's responses to be considerably more reasoned than yours. It's just a good job that your sort will never gain control in this country again - after all, it wasn't so long ago that your "morality" ruled and chemical castration was the norm for those who disagreed with your ways.

Jon. What the Inspector is all about is self reliance. You see, when you have that, you have strength. Then you can teach others how to be self reliant.

What’s a ‘failed Catholic’ by the way ? If you are probing into the Inspector’s past, you get what he gives you. Don’t forget that now.

Inspector, I thought a Christian was someone who had realised that their own acts were insufficient to merit Heaven and therefore required Grace, i.e. a reliance upon the sacrificial act of another? Far be it from me to teach your theology, of course...

However, what's interesting to me is that, in spite of professing this reliance, you then insist on self- reliance in every other aspect. Whilst I don't believe President Obama's "you didn't build that" meme, I do think that we exist as an ecosystem. Self reliance is a mirage. The best parts of life are lived and enjoyed together.

Jon.Self reliance is a mirage

Self reliance is empowering. But one does appreciates it’s not everybody's cup of tea and there are people who rely on self reliant types. For self reliance for two, if you will. Well, there you go, the true origin of marriage is it not, or even CPs come to that. You know the types, people who can’t even go to the local shop without telling their nearest and dearest they’re going there.

Inspector, it's interesting that you glossed over my religio- political point about Grace. Surely you can confess that you aren't actually self- reliant and so all your bluster is just that? Come on. Concede.

Cressida, if I actually read your posts, my blood pressure spike would be stratospheric. I content myself with staring at your Andy Warhol- like visage and imagine you thinking happy thoughts. It's the blog equivalent of putting my fingers in my ears and singing "call me maybe".

a very fitting award, and well deserved, why not call a spade a spade, I am not gay, I am not a member of stonewall, just a byestander, the bigotry coming from the church is why the pews are emptying at an ever faster rate, soon there will be no church, for which I am pleased.
