President Romney – get used to it

Today, our cousins in the United States of America go to the polls. It has been entertaining, divisive, and tantalisingly close. When it’s over and the cents are counted, it will have been the most expensive election in history ($5.8 billion). But democracy is both inconvenient and costly, and the USA does it rather well - at least the electorate there gets a real choice.

As you know, His Grace has never claimed the gift of infallibility in matters of faith, doctrine or political discernment. In his life, he has been known for his inconsistency, occasionally changing his mind, and sometimes being humiliatingly wrong. It all comes with being human.

So (or But) today, he goes out on a limb and declares the US Presidential Election 2012 will be won by Mitt Romney.

No, don’t laugh. The polls have evidently been nail-bitingly close for months: it really will go down to the wire, and (let’s face it) Obama wasn’t ‘the change’ he promised to be: there was no coherent vision and very little delivery. He simply nudged, pushed and tugged his country incrementally toward the European corporatist model, which can never produce growth or prosperity. The enthusiasm for change is now with the Republicans and the intense feeling among swing voters that Obama simply doesn’t match up to his rhetoric. When some polls are coming in at 49-46 (Gallup) in favour of the GOP, there’s clearly more than a glimmer of hope that this will be a one-term Democrat presidency.

And we must not forget that the ‘single-issue’ dynamic is a potent force over the pond – vastly more than (say) the EU or Green issues are over here. It isn’t all about the economy, the deficit and the national debt (and eye-watering $16 trillion) – there’s abortion, gay marriage, gun control, religious liberty, Israel, etc., etc. – all issues which lead voters toward Governor Romney. And so we’ve seen millions of Evangelical Christians joining with Roman Catholics uniting with Jewish groups complemented by the National Rifle Association, all pouring in millions of man hours to help the undecideds decide.

And the lead Romney enjoys with ‘engaged’ groups (ie those highly likely to vote) is impressive: the elderly (54%), married couples (56%), church attendees (59%), white evangelicals (79%), Roman Catholics (53%), and gun owners (60%).

And we must remember that Obama also needs to win the Senate as well as the White House: it’s looking as though whoever wins the presidency may not also carry the Senate, and that is a recipe for paralysis, brinksmanship and political high-stakes for the next four years. So, even with President Romney, the US may still be stuck with rising taxes to meet the growing costs of big-government and the curse of disastrous policies which are tipping the country toward an inevitable bankruptcy and the world to recession.

The Democrats have had four years to ‘be the change’, and their promises proved vacuous. To guarantee economic security, they need to implement the Ryan plan for growth; to guarantee social security, they need to inculcate a sense of personal responsibility; to guarantee global security, US foreign policy needs to lean back toward Israel and away from the Arab states.

Only President Romney has the clarity of vision to address the political and economic morass into which the USA is fast sinking. Only he appears to care about marriage, abortion, gun control and religious liberty. He is not perfect – he holds some weird beliefs – but he is clearly the best man for the job.

God bless America.

Let's hope we don't have to!

And thankfully, those who actually look at the polls are not quite as confident as you about a Romney win.

Just to take you to task. The European model "never leads to growth"? Excuse my confusion but I believe that over the last great number of years, countries in Europe have actually achieved positive growth. How does an ideologue square that circle?

Alas James, growth in Europe has fast become a thing of the past – Italy, Spain, Greece are dominoes toppling into the deepest recessions in memory and the rest of us are not exactly confident of a shining future.

However, I would agree with you that Romney is unlikely to succeed, given the latest state polls. Yes, we might have thought that the issues His Grace refers to – abortion, gay marriage, gun control, religious liberty, Israel, etc – would indeed lead voters to Governor Romney, but a generally negative press towards him, and the fact that so many Catholics, for example, are minorities who feel more of an affinity for Obama will probably nullify the effect of these issues.

Obamacare, for example, has infuriated Catholic leaders because it will impose on Catholic employers the duty to insure employees for contraception and abortion. The policy may, though, be more popular with the insured employees, extending as it does their healthcare provision. Also, the inevitable hike in premiums may not kick in for a year or so, insulating the President for the time being at least. This is just one example of an issue that should have played into Romney's hands actually working in the interests of the incumbent.

Weigh in the effect of hurricane Sandy and the simple fact that Obama is handsome (I try to avoid words of religious significance such as 'charismatic'), speaks beautifully, has a movie star's smile and can work a crowd like an old-time preacher and I think Romney's die is well and truly cast.

The key word being 'purports.' He is at best a liberal Christian, and liberal Christianity is a completely different religion. In which case, he differs from me in religious terms just as dramatically as Romney does.

I wonder why that is?

Oh, I don't know. Perhaps because we are all racists under the skin? Could you have been more subtle about that? Oh well. At least we wouldn't vote against a candidate simply because of his religion. You know, like all those Liberals who will refuse to vote for a Mormon?

Obama isn't black. His mother was white. He is a mulatto.

I pray he loses because he was and is totally unqualified to be president of the United Staes of America. Not because of his race.

He spent much of his childhood in Indonesia without a clue what it was like to be an average child growing up in the country he is now President of.Later his mother moved back to Hawaii after she divorced Obama's Muslim step father who had adopted him.

His teenage mentor was a man named Franklin Marshall Davis a member of the Communist Party USA and a paedophile.

His campaign for President began in the living room of a Marxist radical 60's left over named Bill Ayres who made bombs that killed cops and civilians.

He never had a real job in his life other than being a "community organizer" for the left wing organization called ACORN which forced banks to give loans to unqualified minorities. This policy gave us the sub-prime mortgage catastrophe in late 2008.

We don't know for certain where he was born and no one has seen any of his high school, college or law school records and released the results to the public. If he is the "genius" we are told by his supporters then why can't we see his grades?

He belonged to a "church" for almost 20 years where the "pastor" spewed hatred of whites, Jews, and the USA.

He bowed to foreign leaders most notably the Musluim King of Saudi Arabia.

He went to Cairo in 2009 and trashed his own country in front of the Muslim world and then went on to praise Islam with a litany of lies.

Last month he abandoned his Ambassador to Lybia and 3 other to die when he refused to send in the Marines to save their lives. He told the USA and the world it was because of an "anti Muslim" Youtube movie and used his power to have the man who made it thrown in jail on trumped up charges.

Obama is a total failure.

Pray to God he loses. The polls aren't closed yet

He is from Chicago the most corrupt city in the USA where the election day slogan is "vote early and vote often".

Chicago was the city the mob, led by Sam Giancana, who made a deal with JFK's father old Joe Kennedy to lay off the mob if his son became presient. The mob gave Chicago (and West Virginia) to John F, Kennedy who won by less than 115,000 votes out of over 62 million cast in Novemeber 1960.

Nixon should have contested that election but for the good of the country during the Cold War didn't.

Let's hope that who ever wins tonight it is a clear majority.

Romney is a decent man who's has run busnesses successfully and was an excellnt Governor of majority Democrat Massachusett's. He never attended a "church" where the "miister" spewed hatred of whites and Jews as Obama did.

At a State dinner given for Obama at Buckingham Palace by the Queen of England he couldn't keep his trap shut as the British National Anthem was being played. How could a "genius" like him not know the melody for "God Save the Queen" is a time to keep quiet?

If Romney wins let's hope there are no riots by Obama's supporters.

Pink News says “The next 24 hours will be a significant moment for LGBT rights in America. There are referendums on equal marriage in Washington, Maryland and Maine.

In Maryland and the state of Washington, voters will decide on whether to uphold or reverse moves to permit same-sex marriage.

Meanwhile, in Minnesota, residents will vote on a measure that would ban same-sex marriage, while allowing civil unions.

Maine is voting on the issue without a previous verdict taken by the state’s legislature or by voters.

The commentator admits the race will be ‘tight’. Using a word that is rather alarming when seen on a gay site, don’t you think…

Sad days indeed, Your Grace.

The American Republic now faces its nemesis, an electoral majority of benefit seekers and dependents. Hardly the land of the free and hope of the brave.

Mitt Romney told an inconvenient truth when he pointed out that 47% of the US population were welfare dependent. Compounding this is the release of data showing that 54% of babies born in the US last year were non-white; and of course, these numbers overlap. Given that 87% of Blacks voted for Obama (down from 2008) the future of US politics looks alarmingly polarised on racial lines.

It is suddenly possible that the US will never again elect a white Republican as President.

Mr Avi Barzel is quite right. We can expect to see a rapid collapse of US power projection as Obama slashes the defence budget to reward his supporters with even more benefits.

Dangerous days for the West, and it seems inevitable that the US demographic time-bomb will be a globally significant development.

Sobering thoughts from you both, but it is also fair to say that both Republican and Democrat presidents have contributed to the current situation in America – each owns responsibility for what has happened. Rather like in the UK, it does seem as if a paradigm shift has been achieved in the US of A – you are most definitely not in Kansas anymore, and we are definitely not in Blighty.

The public on both sides of the Atlantic seems to think this is a good thing because by public consent Obama is returned with a very decisive victory (I don't know what the count is, but in 2008 he beat McCain by 10,000,000 popular votes).

Obama can hardly be called a hypocrite, trumpeting the 'audacity of change' from the get-go. The kind of change he is committed to, though, will sit very uncomfortably with many of the visitors to this blog; however, democracy in action it is.

Did I say you didn't like lesbians? Why no, I didn't did I? I felt that I was merely adding to your words, so I was being supportive of you. You see I don't have a vendetta against you, but then the real shock comes when you don't see things that way :

"I just don't like you and no lesbian I know would either"

Excuse me whilst I take on board that news, so I can compose myself for a minute and wipe away the tears that have formed in my eyes.

Ars Henrik, had this election been "democracy in action," as you suggest, the Republicans will graciously concede as they have done in the past and strive to work with the government. Instead, massive corruption with dirty Chicago-style politics, gerrymandering, election fraud by Democrats and blatant, in fact militant, media bias which will all be closely examined in the days and years to come will turn this into a Pyrrhic victory for the Democrats in the longer term; the Obamamessiah cannot run again in 2016.

Bluedog has a good point about Democrats being demographically advantaged, but I think he is wrong to assume that the traditional pro-Democrat sectors will remain as they are or that they can be bought off indeffinetely with piffle. Especially, when there is no more money to be had for buying anyone off. What we will see is investors hunkering down for another four years, an energy sector in decline, joblessness, capital fleeing the US, a savage culture war over the media and academia and an attack on the expanded powers of the Federal government itself. Demographicaly, the young nitwits whose ideology and intellectual depth has been whittled down to fretting over non-issues like global warming, same sex marriage, abortion politics and free birth control are being replaced by a more focussed, politically sophisticated and conservative generation.

Obama will hang on for four years, lacerated by attacks on his record, his integrity and moral legitimacy, calls for investigations and perhaps even an impeachment. The angered conservative majority will concentrate on obstructing foreign policy, on buttressing individual and state rights against the Fed as it dismantles his hobbyhors policies and chops his cronies at the knee one by one. It will not be pretty and the Democrats' gloating and messianic fervour won't last out a fortnight.

I was thinking that Romney was very gracious in his defeat, in contrast to Obama's supporters who were far too shrill for my liking.

I am shocked by the media coverage of this- anyone would have thought Obama had won by a landslide, which is according to the BBC and Guardian ushering in a new phase of American politics, with the GOP being left behind as "bigoted Tea Party fanatics". There does seem to be more gloating than usual about this election result.

Yet when I looked into it, Obama has won 50.3% of the popular vote, down from nearer 60% from last time, so this is not exactly a political revolution some would have us believe. It is more of a return to the last couple of elections in which the result is a tie in popular vote, with the electoral college's first past the post system giving the impression of a bigger victory than has been won.

Good analyses by Bluedog and Avi; thank you. Indeed we must hope that the event will mobilise those Americans who understand what the US has been and still can be: Americans are not all as apathetic as the English. Indeed, many of them are far more "Racist."

Nevertheless (and meanwhile), I have spoken to some white Americans who reject the literary heritage of British Literature; they infinitely prefer the African-American variety. I can't decide whether that's because there's less of it....

"Apocalyptic" is a fairly apt word to describe the upcoming mess, Ars, and I wish it weren't so as well. Obama is no Bill Clinton, who for all his faults kept his eyes on the mood of the nation, managed to work with the GOP quite amiably and did get things done, leaving a healthy economy and an energised party. Obama, though, is a nasty, vengeful number who has only one skill, which he learned in the "dirty alleys" of Chicago, politics and that's winning elections. By hook or crook and usually both. But when his term runs out in 2016, his Chicago machine and his seedy cronies will be leaving with him, pockets stuffed with loot, while our economies are left in the gutter in tatters and the Democratic party shrinks to a husk of its former self. And that's not good for anyone. May G-d keep America safe.

Your Grace, we conservative optimists were too optimistic, it seems. We have four years to debate where and how we messed-up, but here's one of the best comments I've come across on a blog, a comment by one Kim Batteau:

Unfortunately, there is a deeper problem here. The secularizing of America has been the result of the secularizing of the major universities, which train the thinking of America. There is a one-to-one correlation between level of education and liberal views in the West, including the U.S. We conservatives have got to get back to basics: deep reflection, study, writing about life, art, and science. Without real academic influence, we are going to lose America. Get the conservatives out of the "think tanks" and back into academia. Stop the infantilization of America.

And if may say so, Your Grace, you yourself have been doing a ...pardon the un-PC expression... a man's job in your corner of the World. Battle speed ahead, steady as you go and carry on, Your Grace.

Avi @ 16:32 --- Yes, Ms. Batteau expresses the situation well; and her view reveals, of course, the same deconstructionist dynamic that has burrowed away at British education.

I reckon the commies originally understood that Christianity channeled Greek and Roman education into the rest of the West- along with the Hebrew contribution. Seeing the political advantage of similarly controlling epistemology, they set about channeling Marxism instead, thereby enabling their own domination of all institutions and professions.

In order to accomplish this, though, they needed to negate or (at least) parody the essence of Judeaeo-Christianity: the glorification of God. That's why the powers that presently be are so big on Humanism and their take on the Enlightenment, for example.

Contrastive representation of the Anglo-Saxon era as the "Dark Ages" suits the purpose well... even though it ignores the brilliance of the manuscript evidence we have inherited, and forgets the insular contribution to the preservation of literacy and education in euroland. Whence ... all the fun in consigning to oblivion all things British and WASP.

To the ends suggested then, the franco-german claptrap artists also worked to hammer in the "secular" wedge; in doing so they began to trivialise and disempower Christianity -- while also undoing Israeli-Western ties.

This is why I name them the "Enemy," and "Anti-Christ."

I agree with your well thought out and articulate arguments here defending Western Christian Civilization, in particular that brilliant and unique corner of our Civilization it in Northwestern Europe. The Brisish Isles.

I've noticed the term "WASP" used here (you used it in your last post) in the few months I've been visiting this Blog and I find it interesting that "indigenous" English are now using this term which had it's origins in the USA back in 1957 when the American political scientist Andrew Hacker started to use this term in his writings and defined the "WASPs":

"They are 'WASPs'—in the cocktail party jargon of the sociologists. That is, they are wealthy, they are Anglo-Saxon in origin, and they are Protestants (and disproportionately Episcopalian). To their Waspishness should be added the tendency to be located on the eastern seaboard or around San Francisco, to be prep school and Ivy League educated, and to be possessed of inherited wealth"

The term was also popularized by sociologist and University of Pennsylvania professor E. Digby Baltzell in his 1964 book The Protestant Establishment: Aristocracy and Caste in America. Baltzell stressed the closed or caste-like characteristic of the group, arguing, "There is a crisis in American leadership in the middle of the twentieth century that is partly due, I think, to the declining authority of an establishment which is now based on an increasingly castelike White-Anglo Saxon-Protestant (WASP) upper class.

It's odd to see this term used by the British today to discribe themselves. I assume this is a result of massive immigration to Britain in the past 60 years by 3rd worlders who are definatley not "WASPs". But they will become WASPs when the assimilate and become snobs someday.

In the USA there are also genuine WASPs who live in trailer parks and shacks in Appalachia but they are seldom if ever Episcopalians and are usually Baptists or Pentecostalists or members of some fundamentalist sect. They are fine people but they don't play polo or serve high tea.

In the USA today there has evolved a new definition of what a WASP is. They are any person of any race or religion who has totally assimilated economically and socially into the "establishment". There are Jewish, Catholic, Black, Asian, and Hispanic (mainly Cuban American) WASPs. They even adopt many original WASP customs and wear their uniform: blue blazers with tan pants, Brooks Brothers suits, Izod shirts, and L L Bean cloths, and penny loafers. I'm not certain you are familiar with this uniform in the UK but it's similar to, but not exactly, what you would see the worn by your version of a yuppy or at the Henley Regatta, horse races, and country houses on weekends.

That is the true meaning of an assimilated "multi cultural" English peaking society society when immigrants gradually become "WASPs".Not the ethnic enclaves where the new immigrants hate their host country and all it stands for and refuse to assimilate.

This is only and observation about the word WASP being used outside the USA these days and not any sort of criticism of what you post here which is always interesting.

John, although my predictive skills took a shellacking ...to borrow a term from the Big O... the January elections in Israel will undoubtedly keep Netanyahu and Likud for for another term. It'll be comical to watch the White House try to influence the Israeli elections with Chicago-style scare-mongering, perhaps even by sicking Vice Buffoon Snickerdoodle on the country.

Obama will, of course, also fold on Iran by reframing the problem as Israel's alone and with Valerie Jarrett seemingly in charge of semi-secret negotiations with the mullahs, Obama only needs to do the minimum to maintain the illusion of progress whilst actually kicking the can further down the road and bying Tehran more time. Whether Israel has or has not the capability to go in and delay the weapons program is now moot; there will be no political will left in Israel, with a hostile Russia and China backing Iran, not to mention a Muslim Brotherhood dominated Middle East. What's more, Israel will now feel the pressure to sell rights to its Mediterranean gas fields to Russia's Gazprom, which wants to maintain its energy monopololy, if not strangle-hold on Western Europe. But all that could pale in comparison to Obama getting a bee in his bonnet about a glorious presidential "legacy" by solving the Middle East problem, or as in the old days they used to say, the Jewish Problem, by taking advice from his crypto-fascist radical cronies seriously. Not optimal, as your Commander in Chief would say. But why worry? Didn't Big O recently declare himself recently as Israel's best friend...evah?

Indeed, Nonmouse, the simple fact is that humanities education in the US and of course, in Canada too, has become an extension of Marxist doctrine. At least half of my profs in History assigned the lunacies of Das Kapital in their reading lists and discussed marxian and outright neo-Marxist theories of labour and economics with a straight face. That was then. Now, the idiocy continues unabated, with various liberation fads, holy "equity" and other simple sloganeering having ended all political and philosophic discussions in the highly radicalized classroom. There under the stern glare of the graying neo-Neo Marxists, the academician nomenclatura, imposes political and doctrinal correctness in the classroom with the passion, if not the powers yet, of a Pol Pot village chief.

It's a cold rainy autumn day here. The leaves have fallen off the trees and snow is predicted for this weekend. A bleak funeral pall covers over my little village after the Obama win last night.

I can honestly say that this win by Obama is the worst post election day of my life. In the past I just shrugged my shoulders and told myself "the Republic will survive". This time I knew what was at stake if Romney lost.

Obama man is going to destroy the USA. It's that simple. Nothing can stop him now. He can do it by Executive Order and there is little the Congress can do. He is a Marxist. This has been his goal since he was a young man.

Did you know the Polish hero of the Solitarity Movement,Lech Walesa, came to the USA to campaign in Polish American communities for Romney? Lech Walesa knows a Communist wheh he sees one and he knows Obama is one.

What is odd is my small county in here Southwest Pennsylvania which normally votes Democratic Romney won by a majority of 58%.The map in the newspaper shows the entire state of Pennsylvania red counties that voted for Romeny with only the two major cities in blue voting for Obama as well as few other isolated counties that went for him.

This win was the result of a dumbed down population who have no concept of history, the threats we all face from radical Islam, instant gratification as their sole reason to exist and a secular culture that that has brainwashed a younger generation of bird brains into believing the government (tax payers) owes them a living and life will be one long party paid for by the slaves who work hard to pay the taxes.

Without a doubt I am certain within a few months Obama will grant total amnesty to 25 or 30 million illegals from Mexico and Central America. This will mean they can apply for citizenship and vote in the next election which means these people who can't speak English and know nothing about our history will be the deciding factor in future elections making sure the USA will never have a conservative President ever again.

We are doomed.

Ah, Inspector, you've been under the thumbs of your home-grown bolshies and the stupid EU for so long, living under imposed economic torpor and social control you can't even remember good times and the taste of freedom. I mean that as an observation, btw, not a put-down. We here, in the Americas do remember and we're now depressed and mad. Me and millions of others in the US and Canada are dealing with a very personal loss of hope which, for me, ended abruptly as we were sneaking peeks at our devices in the middle of a small celebration last night. The scotch lost its zing and I only ate about six chicken schnitzels. Instant, post-election hopelessness, the irony behind the "hope and change."

Me, I've been squirreling a few nuts away for a lease on a second rig and was thinking of hiring a couple of guys for runs to Cali and B.C. to take advantage of the economic boom a Romney victory was bound to bring. I doubt this will be happening now. The nuts will stay safer in the bank or will be used for paying down debts. Other indie drivers are also shelving plans. Gas already jumped up 2 cents per litre today, and that's the beginning. We were counting on a Romney victory and an economic upswing fueled literally and financially by the energy sector and that ain't happening. In fact, millions of little guys like me would have contributed to the boost by spending, hiring, taking risks and playing tycoons. But we can't and we won't because we'll be getting hit now by a slew of regulations, fees, fines, penalties, duties, taxes, requirements, carbon credits and whatnots to pay for all those benefits and entitlements the permanent non-producers need to be rewarded with for voting-in the American Idol one more time. This is how recessions begin. And when those with the real bucks begin hiding and moving their assets out, away from the moochers, we'll be staring at a real depression. These are, indeed, terrible times.

John, already Obama announced his first trip abroad and its to his best and only buddy...Recep Erdogan and his increasingly Islamist Turkey. What a coincidence. This, as you will see, is in preparation to taking Hamas off the list of terror orgs, which is what Erdogan and the Muslim Brotherhood have been pushing for and making it a viable "partner" for peace talks with Israel, which will, as has been the custom, have to begin with Israel making "gestures" by giving away territory in return for promises. Meanwhile the Islamist-friendly Valerie Jarret and the Clinton woman's second in command, Huma Whatshername, the one with Muslim Brotherhood relatives, will be chatting up Iran and scoring further "diplomatic victories." As Obama once said, elections have consequences, and boy, are we goint to feel them now that he has no further elections to worry about until the midterms in 2014. And as the old tune goes, "You ain't seen nothing yet..."

As for the military pushing for a prosecution of the Obama admin or an impeachment; that won't happen. The senior military command are mostly careerists with their eye on goodies, which our capo from Chicago will be tossing about. The rank and file may be angry, but they are powerless to do anything about it except to grumble.

Off for another soirée, boys and girls, where like last night, I'll get to hear from at least two or three people how they've had to shelve business plans they waited four years to fire up. Well, at least the scotch will be good as always.

Thanks Mr. Magee @18:15 yesterday for your useful observations on the acronym "WASP." For me, the expression has always been about Americans - I do not apply it either to myself or other Britons. I see the American branch of white-anglo-saxon-protestants as independent descendants of their ancestor; nevertheless, in my post, I was recognising the shared roots of British and American cultures -- as opposed to those of insurgents.

I was, however, unaware of the connotations that have accrued to the term! Your explanation is useful for one who inclines to believe that class hatred and snobbery spring from assertions of racial identity-- and so extend to battles about retention/seizure of home lands. I think that Marxists have muddied the waters of this concept by their application of the "class" label.

It therefore fulfills Marxist "colonialist" ends that immigrants to "Anglo" lands refuse to assimilate. That light makes sense of their wish to re-make a host country in the image of the oppressive regime they wish to escape. Whether they know it or not, such immigrants serve as cultural invaders; they assist in the oppression of incumbent inhabitants. Once their "leader" Obama legalizes them....

I suspect, however, that many of the invaders are unaware of their role as "useful idiots" -- and they don't know what happens when they destroy the goose who laid the golden eggs. As I think Avi shows @ 19:27, they never will know unless we do something to re-establishing Judaeo-Christian principles in education. The Glorification of God involves movement towards Truth, not the lies of mankind.

However, we cannot afford this wasteful denominational squabbling. Perhaps it would help to remember that the principal aim is not establishment of human dominions: with rules of iron made by bossmen who claim to be infallible. Rather, all Christian homelands must remain free to provide firm foundations for the House of God.

My bad, Corrigan, meant to write Mary Robinson, Máire Mhic Róibín to you. The first female prime minister of Ireland and a banal shill for terrorists as head of the UNHCHR. Big on "Palestinians" for a while, although I think they managed to finally gross her out too and now she's into "climate justice," a much trendier nonsense.

Ever thought of redirecting your passions to battling "global warming"? Another nonexistent entity, like "Palestine," but the funding is pretty good and the dates are safer; they don't have dads who'll cut off your youknowhat for looking at their daughters.

Rambling Steve, it certainly may look like that, but what seemed to tilt the field were the usual massive blocks created by decades of government dole and steady indoctrination at what goes for a public school system in the US. First there was the Black vote, at 87% for the O, which only went down 6% from 2008 in spite of the fact that the Blacks are way worse off under Obama, with unemployment rates reaching for 50%. Now that's racial consciousness and loyalty for you. The other one is the younger, single woman sector. It bought the "war on women" meme right off and jettisoning a century of feminism, thought with their genitals rather then their heads when freaking over having to become breed stock under Romney and got excited over "free" birth control and 100,000 unionized, bursting-with-benefits teaching jobs. Their dream is the Life of Julia, where Big Sugar Daddy Guv'mint looks after his little girls and pays them for having a pulse, or for aborting after all the "hookups" they were too pissed to remember. Google the heroine of the sector, "Sandra Fluke."

Then, everyone was courting the "independents" who are not really independent, but Democrats who are too daft to make up their mind and who just want to look more thoughtful and interesting than everyone else. Most of them too voted for Obama, along with the 47% of freeloaders whose grand strategy for funding their appetites is the bumper-sticker slogan, Make the Rich Pay!

Don't discount vested corporate interests like the new "green" sector of crony capitalists, the trial lawyers and all the insurance companies. The druggies probably didn't vote anyway, because with the spread-out voting centres and the weird voting machines in the US they wouldn't know what button to push, pull, whirl or tweak even if they could find the place and remember why they went there. We live in interesting times gentlemen. In the UK we have the rise of the food bank. A few weeks ago, the local supermarket was imploring people to donate items they’d only just bought to this cause. One wonders if the chain made its own contribution in some way. Of course, it’s all very well donating money to homosexual causes – that’s a ‘sexy’ thing to do. But the alleviation of hunger on your own shores ? Hardly. That’s the kind of thing presently kept quiet.

Apparently, we no longer need an army in the UK. Well, not true. It’s just that we can’t afford one, not a full time one anyway. But we DO need Poles. Why allow them to rebuild THEIR country when they could be keeping British workshy in the benefits luxury they have become accustomed to. We also have a desperate housing shortage, but not enough to stop Pakistani cousin brides arriving by the daily plane load !

Manfarang. Actually it was the Conservatives who encouraged people from the former Empire to come to England to work as cheap labour.During the 1950s and early 1960s there was a labour shortage

I think ‘encouraged’ is a bit strong. But they certainly left it late when it came to imposing immigration control.

Well chaps, when the food starts getting scarce, that’s when it will start to kick off. It’s always worked that way in the past when a revolution is your only man.

Mary Robinson you can have, Avi. I wouldn't pee on her if she were on fire, although I cheerfully would any other time. She is the walking, talking epitome of the the Golden Girl, the kind of person blessed to walk all the days of her life with doors opening before her without her having to turn the knob, shallow, contemporary (meaning she's a liberal because this is a liberal age, but if she were born in Soviet Russia, she would have been a loyal party member)and completely without substance, I despise her and all she represents (I won't say "stands for", because that would imply depth of character).

As to the Palestinians, I'm a little confused by your Golda Meir line that the they don't exist. On the face of it, it does seem to make a certain mercenary sense to peddle this Goebbles-like lie, but there is a disturbing aspect in that if you can convince yourself of it, it serves to assauge your conscience; this is disturbing because it implies Israelis actually have consciences. After all, they don't have any shame.

Karl Marx had a race problem of his own:

In the January and February 1849 issues of his journal ‘Neue Rheinische Zeitung’, Karl Marx published articles calling for the extermination of whole races in Europe. These articles were included in a book of the teachings of Marx, Engels and Lenin published in Germany during 1902 and again in 1913. It is most likely that Engels wrote them. This socialist programme considered the Slav nations to be ‘counter-revolutionary’. The Germans, Poles and Magyars (Hungarians) were considered to be ‘the bearers of progress’. The rest must go:

“The chief mission of all other races and peoples, large and small, is to perish in the revolutionary holocaust"

It was explained that the Slavs had failed to pursue essential historic evolution, so were therefore counter-revolutionary. All European countries contain ‘left-overs of earlier inhabitants’, now rightly brought into subjugation by more advanced peoples. Amongst such ‘racial trash’ (Voekerabfall) were listed Scottish Highlanders, Bretons, Basques, South Slavs (Slovenes, Croats, Serbs) and Czechs.

Mr John Magee @ 03.42 said, 'Putin, Ahmadinejad, and Chavez are thrilled Obama won.'

As it happens A-jad has just trashed Obama's re-election at a Democracy Conference in Bali. A-jad pointed out that the turnout was 41% so Obama's power rests on just 25% of the US electorate.

Regarding your comment @ 20.02: 'Obama man is going to destroy the USA. It's that simple. Nothing can stop him now. He can do it by Executive Order and there is little the Congress can do.', I cannot disagree more, he can't deliver.

Obama can do precisely nothing because the Republicans hold right of veto over his Presidency by virtue of their control of the House. It goes like this; US federal receipts are $2.2 trillion and Onama's projected outlays are $3.4 trillion giving a deficit of $1.2 trillion. This is an unsustainable equation given that the US federal debt is aleady $16 trillion. The Repubicans are therefore in a position to march Obama straight over the fiscal cliff, and they should do so. The consequences are a mandatory $600 billion cut in Federal outlays, just half the projected deficit, and some rather deflationary tax increases. Most importantly, by forcing Obama over the fisdcal cliff, the Republicans destroy his crediblility and that of social democracy in the US. It may lead to austerity rioting across the Blue states as the 47 million Americans on Food Stamps realise that they hold worthless IOUs. But what is the alternative? The world will not finance Obama's dreams, why should the US tax payer. The Republicans can save America by this painful action.

The alternative is an ever-growing Democrat client state, ultimately financed by hyper-inflation. Time to draw a line in the sand.

No wonder the share price of Smith & Wesson jumped ten per cent after the election result.

You surprise me with your views on Robinson, Corrigan. Didn't think she could evoke such disagreement with the home crowd.

As for "Palestinians," I tyhought we covered that at one of our delightful discourses in the past, but what the H. What's Goebbelian (o, how you fascist types like the Nazi hints) is the repeated lie, widely accepted now, that tries to make a brilliant Soviet propaganda ploy into a fact. Prior to 1967 they were Arabs, identifying themselves as South Syrians at most, being Syrian migrants anyway, related by clans, sharing the same dialects and traditions and dreaming of a Christian-free and Judenrein Pan-Arab empire. But after the humiliating defeats, where a handful of Jews repeatedly whupped a mass of Arabs, the USSR and its submissive Arab clients decided to change the "optics" and to manufacture a fictional identity, the glorious, allegedly indigenous "Palestinian," and on all the Palestine Mandate Arabs and any other Arab Muslim who desired to claim it. Ever suspicious of the Russians, even while the "Palestinian" meme was peddled, Arab leaders repeatedly reminded all their peons that this is a temporary, purely political PR invention for Western consumption and that no such thing as "Palestinian state" will be allowed to form. Jordan certainly didn't suggest it while it occupied Jewish State lands it claimed as it's "West Bank" for 19 years. The KGB, which came up with the truly brilliant idea thus helped create the PLO which would take all the repulsive and ugly-sounding Islamist and fascist Arab gangs and turn them into a "progressive" romantic national liberation movement. They also rightly reasoned that the world will have more sympathy for a fictional national minority which can be made to look smaller and weaker than the Jewish one and mask the fascistic and colonialist pan-Arab push to subjugate and eventually cleanse all Christians and Jews from the ME.

So, see o young Corrigan, while we may credibly debate whether by now, due to time and shared experiences, we can speak of the possibility of a unique Palestinian identity, in Golda Meir's time there was no such animal apart from a brilliant political propaganda ploy by the brains at Drzezinsky Square or the Patrice Lumumba University. Hence her very apt, Palestinians, Shmalestinians line.

They know they can obstruct Obama's hare-brained schemes quite a bit, at least enough to forestall a few catastrophies, but everyone knows that the US faces a bleak future. One of the most important battles conservatives everywhere can fight though, is to maintain freedom of the press and to continue coming up with alternatives until they finally burry the MSM, which made Obama's victory possible.

Obama will almost certainly have the chance to stack the Supreme Court so that liberals will control the legal direction of the USA in favor of their social agenda's for many many years. This will be a catastrophe for conseervatives.

USA Presidents have signed executive orders since 1789. Executive orders have the full force of law. The most extreme example of a presidential executive order is Executive Order 9066, where Franklin D. Roosevelt(a democrat) delegated military authority to remove any or all people (used to target specifically Japanese Americans and German Americans) in a military zone. The authority delegated to General John L. DeWitt subsequently paved the way for all Japanese-Americans on the West Coast to be sent to internment camps for the duration of World War II.

Think about what this meant. A President of the USA signed an executive order which interned over 150,000 Japanese Americans (as well as another 50,000 german and Italian Americans). What is to stop a power mad President with a Senate and Congress behind him doing this to people who dare to speak out against his dictatorial powers?

A positive example of a Presidentail executive order was when President Eisenhower (a Republican) ordered the desegration of schools in the south in the mid 1950's

Obama is a Marxist and I have no doubt he would sign executive orders that would end up taking away our fredoms. Anything is possible with this man.

The other factor in favor of Obama is the media. They protect him and make certain anything negative about his inability to function as a leader gets glossed over.

The Benghazi story would have been headline news if a Republican Presdient had been so incompetent to have denied a USA Embassy help when the Embassador and others at his side pleaded with the White House LIVE for help and were denied. Obama should be impeached for direlection of duty as Commander in Chief.

That will never will happen. The media will cover for him and the Republicans, now matter how much they try and do the right thing and fully investigate the total incompetence of Obama and his Secretary of State Hillary Clinton the tragedy will get little or no traction. Obama will never be charged with anything.

Nixon had to resign office over a 3rd rate robbery and coverup. There were no dead bodies which happened in the Benghazi tragedy and is directly linked to Obama's inability to make fast decisions or else he didn't care.

But Mr Magee @ 23.08 and 23.22, Obama cannot issue an executive order to the global bond market. If the markets will not finance the United States, even Obama is stuffed. Indeed, it is probably true to say that unless Obama is forced over the fiscal cliff, the patience of the bond market with the US will show signs of being very finite. The Republicans would be doing the right thing by forcing a major crisis.

Note how the US equity market has dropped sharply and the gold price has kicked up. The latter is an indicator of concern by investors that quantitive easing will hit warp speed as the US tries to finance its crippling debt and budget deficit of 8% of GDP by printing dollars.

The term Voodoo economics seems particularly appropriate.

Between you and me, bluedog, our Mr Corrigan couldn't give a howlin' hoot for Palestinians or Shmalestinians; his main issue is his low self-esteem. I found, after much trial and error, that when he's thus agitated, calling him a goy calms him right down and he drifts off the forum.

I'm glad someone keeps score here, Dodo. I'm not good with numbers and I do this purely for the love of the sport. And you'll have to explain wjat sardonic irony means, but not tonight, as I'm starting a four-day weekend, the family is out at some to-do and I'm sanmpling a bit of Suntory Single Malt I got as a gift, a surprisingly excellent Japanese whisky which deserves the right to be called a scotch.

Indeed, Miss Hannah, where is Carl? 9 November 2012 at 00:22

Hi Bluedog,

I think Obama probably thinks that he can issue an EO to the bond market- by signing an EO to the Fed to print, print and print (Rossovelt did that when he issued an EO confiscating private gold in the 1930s).

There was an interesting thing on wiki about the debt and a solution was that Obama could simply mint platinum coins with a face value of $1 trillion each, cash it in at the fed and be done with Congress as there is no limit to which coins can be issued.

OR Obama could instruct the Fed to monetise US Gold reserves (up to 8,000 tons) which would bring in about $500 billion dollars plus.

So John Magee is quite right, a President can by-pass Congress if he is crafty enough. Would Obama do that? From what people say here the answer would be a yes.

Since you've already excommunicated me from the Catholic Church and supported the Inquisition to have me burned at the stake as a heretic I would definately relish such a debate and love to see if you and the other Bible thumpers have the guts to defend your beliefs. I doubt it.

As a Zionist why do always you always label anyone who, even in the slightest way, is critical of Israel a "fascist" or an anti-Semite? Is Israel or individual Israeli's above honest criticism? Do you honestly believe the forced expulsion of almost 800,000 Palestinians fron their villages in 1948 to make way for a new home for European Jewish Holocaust survivors who's ancestors (assuming they weren't converts) hadn't lived in what is now Israel since the Romans expelled them in about 60 AD? Was this brutal ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people the right and just thing to do? These people lived in this region for as long as 3,000 years along side Jews.

Does the modern State of Israel have a right to exist? Do you support Hamas and other radical Muslim Palestinian organizations and their never ending terrorist activities agaisnt Israel? Do you support the expulsion of the ancient Jewish communities from places like Morocco, Algeria, Tunesia, and Lybia after the modern State of Israel was created in 1948?

Didn't you notice Wall Street took a dive the morning after the elction? A loss over over 316 points and another 100 points today? That's a mini crash and shows that Wall Street has absolutley no confidence in the economy for the long term future. Thi is not good. I wonder why?

Are you aware the White House was behind the "Ocupy Wall Street Movement"? Remember back in 2008 when Obama said the USA needs a "civilian national security force"? What did he mean? His own army of green shirt thugs? I have a suspicion we saw an example of what he meant in the "Occupy" people's activities and riots last year.

Conspiracies have never held an attraction for me, however, Obama in his 2nd tern really worries me because he wants to exactly as he has said over and over: redistribute the wealth. That is Marxism. He wants to break the back of his own country as an economic and military super power. If he succeeds that will mean chaos for the entire world.

Of course I would hope he would start redistributing wealth by raiding the bank accounts of fabulously rich Hollywood types or liberal billionairs like George Soros. That won't happen...yet. He will start by taxing the upper middle class into oblivion, then the middle class, and then destroying small business by heavy taxes and more regulations. He knows what he is doing and will do it well. We are like the frog in a pot of cold water on the stove who doesn't know he's being boiled alive because the heat is slowly heating the water and for a while he feels comfortable. Then he becomes alarmed when the water starts to get too warm. Finally it starts to boil and the frog dies in agony.

John, regarding your question above, the simple answer is that I've been around the block enough times to know the difference between a genuine critic, one who sides with Arabs or Muslims on principle, a genuine humanitarian, versus an antisemite who postures as the above. Granted, at times people can adopt positions by antisemites because they haven't thought of the matter much, which is why I can be persuaded to be patient. Not in Corrigan's case.

It's not brain surgery; if they ignore the conditions of the alleged victims under others or their own people, and if they accuse Israel of things others routinely get away with, them's antisemites, them is.

As for the "Palestinian refugees," I dispute yor numbers, the assumption and conclusions. There was no ethnic cleansing; there was a series of stupid decisions by the Arab Higher Committee to encourage the flight of Arabs while the victorious armies massacre the Jews. Here is a position with citations from Arab leaders and the Arab press which I find credible: http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/jsource/History/refugees.html. Just because the "Palestinian refugee" meme has been repeated ove and over again and the UN has brow-beaten every state to pay homage to it, it still doesn't mean that it was so. As an American you should know that the world can be against you and be still wrong.

The Supreme Court was at or near the top on my list why I desperately wanted Romney to win. There will be at least 2 maybe three Justices who will resign (or die) during the next four years giving the liberals a majority for a generation or two.
That's not good news.

Today I read that 8 of the 10 richest counties in the USA voted for Obama. These imbeciles voted for a President who promises to raise taxes, espcially on them ,and says over and over he wants to redistribute the nation's wealth and these fools are begging him to do it. Gas prices will go through the roof but what do the Obama rich care when we have $6 a gallon gas prices next year? That's only pennies to George Soros or Senator John Heinz Kerry.

A fantasy of mine is to read someday about Obama's future housing commitees paying their mansions in Westchester County, NY or Marin County, CA a visit and assigning a poor Mexican family to each room in their lavish homes. That's exactly what happened in Czechoslovakia after the Communists took over in 1948. Czechoslovakia was a middle class prosperous nation before 1948 without a large poor population. The Communists delighted in their power to humiliate the middle and upper classes by doing this sort of thing. My grandparents home in Prague was divided into flats and they ended up living for five years in their bedroom as their new home in their former house.

To be honest. I would have a deep sense of schadenfreude knowing wealthy liberals having to experience the loss of their homes when Obama's future housing commitee commissars show up at their door step with clipboards and measuring tape ready to inspect their mansions and see how many people could fit into each room. It's an interesting fantasy imagining them using a communal kitchen and waiting half an hour or more to use one of the bathroom... with dozens of kids running all over the place.

I bet Madonna, Cher, or Lady Gaga would love this arrangement.

The ripple affect of the next four years from his domestic policies of taxing and spending, his war on the coal industry and drilling for domestic oil and natural gas, spending money for his social agenda's we don't have the money for and his guaranteed international bungling will change our country and world history. And not for the better.

HBO's Bill Maher (an atheist who openly loaths Christians and Orthodox Jews), a so called "comedian" who millions of young mush minds get their views on politics from said this on Wednesday evening " : "Last Night Was A Victory For Pot, For Gay Marriage And For Math". I don't get the "math" part as the USA is 17th in the world today in high school math scores. So this is where we are in 2012. Is this what the men who died on the beaches of Normandy and the Islands of the South Pacific and many other places during WW II died for?

How can a country and a culture survive with this sort of mentality which has no concept of it's history or the meaning of it's civilization and religious values? It can't and the reason for it's coming demise sits in the White House today.

Sooner or later Israel will have to do the right thing for it's survival (along with Europe and the USA) and attack Iran and destroy Iran's nuclear bomb making facilities. PM Netanyahu can't trust the USA any longer because of Obama and who can blame him? When Israel attacks Iran the world will change immediately and judging from how Obama handled the events in Libya last month God help us.

By the way. Next week's "Newsweek Magazine's" cover story will show a picture of Obama in a Revolutionary War uniform with the title "GOP: You're Old, You're White, and Your're History".
An interesting concept when you consider that we can easily assume 95% of Newsweek Magazine's ownership and staff are white.

During the "Occupy Wall Street Movement" sit ins, rallies, and riots all I saw was white's. Very few blacks were in the crowds of these Obama street revolutionaries.

It looks like anti white racism by the liberal establishemnt is suddenly becoming chic. They can now look in the mirror and see their lily white faces and hate themselves. They should.

He bowed to foreign leaders most notably the Muslim King of Saudi Arabia.
He went to Cairo in 2009 and trashed his own country in front of the Muslim world and then went on to praise Islam with a litany of lies.
Last month he abandoned his Ambassador to Lybia and 3 other to die when he refused to send in the Marines to save their lives. He told the USA and the world it was because of an "anti Muslim" Youtube movie and used his power to have the man who made it thrown in jail on trumped up charges." Apart from the spelling of Libya.

This policy gave us the sub-prime mortgage catastrophe in late 2008. [In fact Obama was the lawyer who brought the legal challenge that forced banks to do this. All revealed on Mike Huckabee's blog.]

Mr Magee @ 18.25 says, 'It looks like anti white racism by the liberal establishemnt is suddenly becoming chic.'

It's been that way since the late 1960's, it's just that its now become the orthodoxy from which there is no apparent escape. See non mouse's excellent post @ 17.06 on 8th November.

Hi Hannah @ 11.28, thanks for that link, I'll read it.

There's a fine line between the lunar survivalist wing-nuts and civil resistance to them commies and pinkos by right thinking citizens. You have US relations so are better placed to understand how a federal political system provides defence in depth to apocalyptic change. The USA contains within its DNA the ethos of the early settlers who believed, at the parish level, that they had responsibility for their own destiny and that no foreign power or tyrant was going to stop them. This communicant believes that the good ole boys from Alabama are acting in the finest traditions of US grass-roots democracy and deserve full support. US democracy was seized from the Crown by citizens, not granted to grateful subjects by a munificent but slightly grudging monarchy backed up by a fully function aristocracy, as is the case in the UK. It never ceases to amaze this communicant how many people in the UK still believe 'I know my place' and lack the confidence to challenge the established order.

The UK is also fascinating today in that the Celtic fringe has been granted federal status but the hegemonial power, England, has not. It is thus extremely difficult for the UK parliament to exercise real influence over political developments in the devolved regions, as we can see from the Scottish independence movement. It is clearly imperative that England be devolved too in order to protect the ancient liberties of the English people, which are currently under attack by the UK government as agent for its sovereign power, the EU.

Fortunately there has been a sea-change in attitude by the British political elite over the past six months and the EU is now accepted as a Bad rather than as a Good.

Nonetheless, this communicant remains convinced that the UK must be re-constituted as a federal state rather than a semi-unitary state in order to provide constitutional equality to its constituent parts. His Grace may not agree, being concerned by the implications for the CofE and the current monarchical settlement generally.

The Holy Grail is of course the return of a united Ireland to the UK within a federal constitutional structure acceptable to all parties.

I could not have put matters more candidly myself, for as you correctly state :

"The Holy Grail is of course the return of a united Ireland to the UK within a federal constitutional structure acceptable to all parties"

Indeed, I could not have put matters better myself.

As for our brothers, our American kith and kin, I do fear for them. Not since Lincoln began his war of aggression against the gentlemen-yeomen of the South ,has this great country been in danger of falling into chaos, courtesy of the socialist far left agendas.

Gentlemen, take heed, for ultimately the forces of conservatism shall prevail against the wickedness of socialism. You may feel outnumbered, perhaps outsmarted, but was Gideon not outnumbered and outsmarted when he fought the Amalekites?

The United States of America and The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland ,shall endure against the odds and survive long after the so called European Union has crumbled into dust.

God bless America!

God Save the Queen!

Today I read in the news Hispanic groups in the USA have the temerity to DEMAND President Obama grant immediate amnesty to the 10 - 15 million illegals from Mexico and Central America in the USA because the Hispanic "community" helped elect him. He will do this. Meanwhile 30 to 40 million Mexicans think this is a wonderful idea too and are making their plans to migrate north across the Rio Grande River with their families into the land of the hated Yankee Anglo Gringos and their wonderful welfare state.

Of course, all after these tens of millions of illegals are granted amnesty and given citizenship, the Democrats will have their tables set up outside the courthouses or stadiums where the mass swearing in as citizen ceremonies take place IN SPANISH ready to register these new USA Spanish speaking citizens as Democrats.

This is the end of the two party system in the USA.

Atcually it's the beginning of the end of the USA.

I hate to say this but the Roman Catholic Bishops in the USA support this illegal Mexican and Central American mass migration north into the USA because they need to fill up empty pews. Mass attendence in the USA is less than 40%.

Mr Magee, historically the genius of the United States has been its ability to take in the huddled masses and rebirth them as Americans. For some reason that's not happening with the Latinos who have suceeded in creating their own cultural space within the USA. You could say the same about the US Arabs around Dearborn, who also clearly voted for Obama.

It follows that the only hope for the US is an uncompromising stance on citizenship and culture, as before. There can be no hyphenated Americans and no acceptance of Spanish as an official language within the US. If the US can reach a bi-partisan position on these points, the next step is easy, baptise the existing Latino illegals as Americans. It's a risk, but there is no alternative because the US cannot return them forcibly. In time these existing Latinos would enter the mainstream and assimilate, but not if allowed to remain culturally discreet. After all, if the total number is 15 million its only a 5% increase in US citizenship, but not the population because they are already within the US.

If there are truly 30-40 million Mexicans about to flood across the Rio Grande, they have to be stopped. A ten per cent increase in US population by a large cohort of aliens will wreck the US economy and society in general.

The big problem is Obama, who can't be trusted and almost certainly dreams of a non-white USA with a European style social democracy.

Obama can do a lot of damage in the next four years. That's why the Republicans have to reject any compromise over the fiscal cliff. By doing this the GOP in fact declares war on the US, but Obama must be put under extreme pressure and destroyed. There has to be a point at which a narcissist like Obama simply cracks up and the GOP needs to get him there fast. Otherwise, as you say, it's the end of the US as anything we recognise.

Cuban Americans, almost 4 million of them, are one of the outstanding examples of a people who fled a country taken over by Communism and made a new life in the USA in southern Florida. They have become extremely wealthy because of their work ethic WITHOUT handouts from the welfare state. Cuban Americans are almost 100% pure Spanish.

If you want to know who the next President of the USA will be look up on Google Republican Senator from Florida: Marco Rubio.

Senator Marco Rubio is the Democrats worst nightmare. He is a brilliant, articulate, and handsome and a 100% pure Spanish conservative Roman Catholic who can educate the millions of Mexicans in their own language that their values as Roman Catholics are with the traditional Republicans and NOT with the secular Marxist Democrats.
