Government jobs website advertises for 'internet babe chat'
This screenshot (click to view clearly) is not from some private job-finding service, but a government website advertising: 'Female Presenters required for home internet work for internet babe chat.' This, under a Conservative-LibDem coalition, is deemed to be the sort of respectable and gainful employment for which women are encouraged to apply, in order that they may not live a life on state benefits. Mental, emotional and sexual welfare are subsumed to the super-objective of cutting the welfare budget.
'Internet babe chat' sounds like harmless, easy work. The reality is rather different: it is nothing but video prostitution, no doubt leading many victims into a life of squalid abuse.
It is curious - is it not - that a prime minister who patronisingly wags his finger and orders the Church of England to 'get with the programme' on women's equality and civil rights should at the same time be leading a government which propagates the sexual objectification of women through this sort of immoral advertising.
The job vacancy no longer appears this morning: perhaps Bluebird Live of Walton-on-Thames were inundated with 'beautiful babe' applicants for whom intellect and character counted for nothing against their age and looks. One must hope that any future female bishops are not selected on such criteria, but it is difficult to know when the Government's exhortation is simply to 'get with the programme'.

Perhaps there is a broader issue here, regarding potential loss of benefits for people who decline jobs as a matter of conscience.
Personally I would hate to see people being cut off from benefits for declining such a job, as I would with people of integrity declining to work for astrology or clairvoyance lines which prey on the vulnerable.
Similarly for those who would be reluctant to push quack remedies like homeopathy and reiki.
Where does one stop?
Vegetarians who would decline to work in a shop selling meat products? Religious people refusing work that might mean working on a Saturday, Sunday, or some holiday?
I think I'd be content that all people claiming conscience on any of the above should not lose benefits, but then for consistency what about a Pastafarian declining to work anywhere that sells pasta, and demanding Talk Like a Pirate Day as a Holiday?
David
Calm down, Your Grace :-) I strongly suspect this is the work of some wag, along the lines of a recent ad on the same website for "particularly skilled professionals" who were needed "to remove people whose continued existence poses a risk to the effective conduct of public order":
http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2012/11/23/direct-gov-james-bond_n_2178281.html
It seems direct.gov have not learned their lesson about vetting job postings.
"your [sic] in control"
Those who have grammar skills need not apply then?

You forget the conscience opt out that David Cameron is currently offering to the Church et al, to get their "support" for homosexual so called marriage, is the same as the sop offered by David Steel to medical professionals to oil through the Abortion Act. The net effect of that is we now have 1/2 million babies killed in their mothers womb a year in the United Kingdom.
These changes are inherently wrong and wicked and lead society into great sin and cause untold misery to many innocents along the way. A freedom of conscience opt out is not an antidote to wicked laws.
Beware where our society will be in 20 - 30 years time with this escalating decent into sexual sin. deviancy and perversion.
Is anyone daft enough to think that Cameron personally vets everything done and is therefore personally responsible for all the actions of all the departments of the state apparatus?
Apparently.
Ummm ... too late for any of the 'Cranmer Misfits' to apply then if the job's been pulled (so to speak).
I can imagine what one or two regular posters on here would bring to being an Internet Babe.
No names shared ...... although the temptation is great, I must resist. I really must, for fear of exile to the 'Lake of the Telegraph'.

In the interest of sexual equality in job selection market, the appointment should surely have been for an 'Internet Babe or Internet Hunk'.
The problem here, of course, is the commodification of sex. Western culture has long since crossed over that threshold, but it does raise the question. If sex is a legitimate commodity, then why shouldn't people - no, let's be clear - why shouldn't women be required to prostitute themselves for benefits? If sex is really first and foremost about personal gratification with all other purposes being optional, then why should someone's 'puritanical' attitudes make a difference to government requirements?
Just one of the many unanswered questions of the sexual revolution.

Your Grace,
Sorry to go back to the last thread but I have just posted this complaint with the BBC and would suggest others might like to also.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01p4gty/BBC_Weekend_News_09_12_2012/ This is the link to the relevant news item where considereable weight was given to supporters of same sex marriage than those who wish to maintain marriage as it is. Considering the public opinion is greater to maintain marriage as it is, this is offensive in they way the minority view is propogated.
Men can be "babes" too, Mr Integrity.
It;s not just the BBC that is biassed. In a few days the EU is going to hear and probably pass legislation making any argument on the conservative and Christian side of these moral issues illegal.
As you know, the socialists, liberals and Greens have in past
weeks blocked the nomination of a Roman Catholic, Dr Tony Borg, as an
EU commissioner, because he is a Christian. They assert that this is
against "European values". Their idea of European values is the
extreme of LGBT craziness.
You can read a copy of FWI’s letter to key committee chairmen on the Borg nomination
here.
Now the same activists are pushing through new legislation designed to
impose a strait-jacket on all the nations of the EU, and remove moral
freedom.
Essentially, it is a programme for the persecution
of Christians in particular, and of all those who refuse to approve,
participate in and support the amoral anti-family sexual agenda.
Radical EU Resolution Must be Stopped!
No matter where you live, we are urging you to help us stop the
European Parliament (EP) from advancing a dangerous measure disguised as a resolution on fundamental rights.
This motion will be debated Tuesday evening and voted on by all EP Members on Wednesday morning. As noted below, we have a simple,
one-click
method to send a quick email to 52 key leaders in the European
Parliament. PLEASE DO IT NOW. PLEASE SHARE THIS WIDELY. SEND IT TO YOUR FRIENDS and PROTEST TO YOUR MEPs
The following are specific serious problems with the resolution:
* Requires Member States to criminalize and characterize opinions against homosexuality as “hate speech” and calls for an expansion of criminal offences to include expressions based on
“homophobic or transphobic intent.” This would mean that people such as Adrian Smith (who recently got demoted for his job by saying on Facebook that he disagreed with same-sex marriage) could from next Wednesday be sent to PRISON for his views.
* Demands the legalization of same-sex marriage and abortions where not already legal. (Abortion is a competency of Member States, not European Union (EU) law, and thus not the European Parliament.
* Encourages "liberalizing" laws regulating comprehensive sexuality education. (
Click here to see the serious problems with this kind of education.)
This means that children will be taught that they have a "right to
sex" at any age, and subjected to the sort of material found on the
websites of the Terrence Higgins Trust. If you thought this was only
on hard-core porn sites, think again - it is now being pushed at our children as "sex-ed".
* Calls on Member States to protect “the freedom of those without a religion not to suffer discrimination as a result of excessive exemptions for religions from laws on equality and
non-discrimination.” IN OTHER WORDS SCRAP ANY PROTECTION FOR FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE.
Act now or have it on your concscience for the rest of your life.
@ Naomi King.
I would cast doubt of your figures for UK abortion. According to the Department of Health's official figures, 189,931 were carried out in the whole of the UK in 2012. Not "half a million".

Is anyone surprised by this?
Your grace misses the point though. The issue is not if a woman should be degraded, sold, humiliated, treated like an object, prostituted, beaten or otherwise abused.
But rather whether or not she consents to being degraded, sold, humiliated, treated like an object, prostituted, beaten or otherwise abused.
(The same, of course, applies to men.)
Please at least try to get with the programme.

Hardly any, really.
No earthshaking news here. Kings,a few popes, presidents, PM's and even some dictators along with lesser politicians have subsidized their girlfriends and mistresses and even ran whore houses with government funds. Sometimes, as a cover-up, the even got their "babes" cushy jobs. This stuff has been going on for the the past several thousand years.
It's the age of the internet. Government graft and corruption has to catch up sooner or later.
If you add the unknown number of lives terminated due to the use of the morning after pill, then Naomi King's figures are very conservative indeed.
Well, this is one of the benefits creeping secularism brings (David B, Dreadnaught note this man’s comment to you both yesterday re falling standards…)
By the way, Archbishop, one understands the use of the word ‘prostitute’ is now deprecated in today’s liberal (…in a JS Mill fashion…) society. They are of course honest ‘sex workers’ now and provide a valuable service to the community. At least that’s the line the whores’ solicitor takes when they’re caught in a shop door way and are up in court.
One would be interested in whether those two jokers whom the Inspector mentions in his first sentence would be happy if any female relative of theirs took the babe chat option, or, like the hypocrites they come over as and hypocrites the world over, would never countenance that so close to home, but would wish it on other families under the secular right of choosing your own morals, or dispensing with them altogether…
Let's not forget the other side of this particularly nasty coin. No "punters"; no sex workers; no organised crime nor human trafficking for sexual exploitation.
Ironically his Grace seems himself to be advertising "flirting" websites on his blog. Well I never.
Yes Dodo. God must sometimes regret inventing sex. Or humans. Possibly both.

*cough* I think they're generated from local cookies and URLs.

How dare you Sir. I've never visited such a site in my life. Besides, the advertisement was in German!
I felt compelled to read my daily dose of life under the Levites
Saints be praised ! bone in the flesh...
A fellow couldn’t speak up for you yesterday as he himself was invited to take the long walk not so long ago...
Bred in the bone, is that another one of your holiday snaps? And is the young lady Mrs Bone?
"in order that they may not live a life on state benefits"
I have no objection to anyone declining gainful employment if they think the work offered is unconscionable.
But I have the strongest possible objections to them indulging their precious feelings at my expense.
So that is fine; turn down the job. Turn down your benefits at the same time.
Ah, quit your worrying. With conservatives like Gove and Boris in charge, Britain's moral compass will always point in the right direction.
Mr Veale. Rather good to see you here again. You should post more often you know...
I get flirting sites periodically too - ironically on my machine which is used solely for work. So unless there's been a lot of strange stuff going on in my absence, I'd say there's something off with the ads.
At the minute I have T-Shirts, BP, and "Visit Tel-Aviv".
Only the latter bears any relation to my recent activity :)
Tony B posts...
Yes Dodo. God must sometimes regret inventing sex. Or humans. Possibly both.

Or himself? Did he say long ago in the mists of the past: Sod this! I'm getting out of reality. Mr Devil, it's all yours! And when the EU have driven you nuts, you'll get out too!
"Many are called but few are chosen". David Cameron should ponder those words before he incorporates his secular notions into the concept of marriage.

No holiday snap, just a regular day at the green grocers, like most normal folk
If I may be so bold as to respond to such drivel
His Grace is undoubtedly a conservative - as are millions of others. Which is why they can no longer support the Non-Conservative party.

Interesting photo you chose.
Family photo or Adam and Eve?
Hard to imagine Adam and Eve were the first nudists isn't it?
I think "The Garden of Eden" would be a wonderful name for a nudist colony.
Just stay away from Cornwall!

@ John Henson. So accuracy does not matter?
Political credibility can be based on misinformation - really? Since when?
It does seem that the links are being automatically effaced

Finally got there!
It seems to be the arrow-heads the system doesn't like.

As Adam seems to be walking away with a leaf covering his bottom, maybe it reflects the gay marraige debate ;)
Imagine Adam and Eve being the first nudists, I wonder who the first cobblers and tailors were and what they hoped to gain, from such extravagance
No wonder Julia is gasping after all that frenetic activity
Julia Gasper, blogger automatically strips out some URLs. Not sure what the rules are that it operates on. The normal UK news site URLs seem to be okay.
Are you reading this Mohammedans? This is what the postmodern West wants your daughters, sisters and wives to be: internet babe chat.
Bred
It was the Neanderthals and Cro-magnon people. They set up the stalls offering shoes and clothing apparel outside the gates of Paradise when Adam and Eve got the boot by the Almighty.
