Are Islamists infiltrating the Conservatives?

The parties are canvassing and campaigning hard all over the country. The euro-polling is inconsistent, but it looks as though Ukip will be victorious next Sunday, with Labour coming second, and the Conservatives in a rather humiliating third place. Not as humiliating, of course, as the comprehensive annihilation facing the LibDems, but the people increasingly treat elections to European Parliament as a single-issue referendum, which, combined with the protest of general discontent and cynicism, is about to hand Nigel Farage a significant victory.

So it is understandable that much of the media scrutiny is on him, his candidates and his party. There are undoubtedly a few dozen fruitcakes and loons, even racists and gadflies. But all political parties seem to have their peripheral wingnuts, and the electorate is sufficiently discerning to distinguish the outliers from the essential core.

The allegations of racism against Nigel Farage himself aren't remotely credible, not least because alleging that one or other ethnic group is more inclined to a particular behaviour is not racist per se: it may indeed be that Romanians are statistically more inclined toward organised crime, and that may indeed be an uncomfortable truth. But Attorney General Dominic Grieve QC MP said last year that ethnic minorities "come from backgrounds where corruption is endemic", and that Pakistanis in particular are more inclined to commit electoral fraud. Does that make him racist? If not, how is it different from Nigel Farage's comment about Romanians?

And back in 2011 former Justice Secretary Jack Straw MP observed that Asian men - and in particular Pakistanis - represented a particular threat to white British girls, whom they routinely view as "easy meat" and treat accordingly. Does that make him racist? If not, how is this observation different from Nigel Farage's comment about Romanians?

But while the media focus on Ukip's nutty fringe, straining to smear 'The People's Army' with all manner of political deficiencies and moral delinquencies, there are one or two 'main-party' candidates which are escaping scrutiny.

Take, for example, Mufti Shah Sadruddin, the Conservative candidate for the Green Street West ward in the London Borough of Newham. He seems to have one objective - the construction of the so-called 'mega-mosque' which would become Europe's largest. Labour Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales has consistently opposed these plans, so Mufti Shah Sadruddin is keenly organising the local Ummah to effect political change.

Nothing wrong with that, of course. We live in a representative liberal democracy, and the first-past-the-post party system requires popular appeals, structural organisation, and internal discipline. So Mufti Shah Sadruddin is hoping to unite his Muslim brothers and sisters in order to take control of Newham Council for the Conservatives.

But here he is only last year lauding his Socialist "brother" George Galloway because he "stood against all the Israelis":

What kind of Conservative calls for bloody revolution and political hangings? What kind of Conservative calls for "revenge" against Islam's "oceans of blood", inshallah? Sure, he specifies in a "non-violent way", but Jihadists have a tendency to ignore the way of peace. And it is difficult - very difficult - to stomach his assertion that the Bangladesh Awami League is "worse than Hitler killing the Jews", or that Sheikh Hasina is "worse than Hitler".

And here he is railing against.. well, it is entirely clear. But he's certainly not whipping up the crowd in favour of homosexuality and an appreciation of the virtues of same-sex marriage:

This man is a Conservative candidate. His beliefs about Jews and gays are far more concerning and his words far more offensive than anything believed or uttered by any Ukip candidate.

It seems that, to win the ethnic minority vote, all political discernment and common sense have deserted the Conservative Party. Under David Cameron's leadership, there is no need to prove one's commitment to the Conservative cause before one may become an election candidate: gender, sexuality and skin colour far outweigh philosophy, loyalty or expertise.

Breitbart reports that: “In 2006, Newham Conservatives lined up alongside the Islamic Forum of Europe, the Islamic Society of Britain, CagePrisoners, Hizb ut Tahrir, the Islamic Human Rights Commission, the Muslim Association of Britain and the Muslim Public Affairs Committee, as well as Stop the War in opposing counter-terrorism raids in the area. All of the so-called 'Muslim' organisations mentioned above have had links to radical Islam, or in some cases, terrorism. None are (sic) considered to be genuinely representative of Britain’s Muslim communities.”

If Mufti Shah Sadruddin's candidacy isn't a step toward Islamist entryism, His Grace isn't sure what is.

This entryism is not dangerous for anybody who doesn't live in the areas it is practiced in.

The chances of Islamists succeeding with the national Tory party where Militant failed with Labour are slim at best.

Anonymous leaflets have been circulating in the borough listing the Muslim candidates people should vote for, regardless of party. There has also been past evidence of significant electoral fraud in Newham.

Sunday Times 22/4/2012

Conservative party workers examined 41 addresses with eight residents or more in Newham and estimated that as many as 200 registered voters were not in fact living there. Council officials said they had been conducting their own checks and as a result several people registered to vote on May 3 would be deleted from the roll. Peter Golds, a Tory said: “I strongly believe that in some cases the electoral register is being packed with voters for the purpose of electoral fraud.”

Add to this the possibility of intimidation and postal vote harvesting as in Tower Hamlets... and, well you get the picture.
Even broadminded Boris is concerned that the Conservative party is being used as a vehicle of convenience.

Fellows who were around in the 1970s will recall an interesting phenomenon of the time. The floodgates had by then opened, and Johnny Brown Thing was here in already alarming numbers. rather like the Eastern Europeans today. It of course got worse, Johnny kept on coming and one suspects that Eastern European schoolchildren too are planning to desert their underachieving countries to join older siblings, cousins, uncles and aunts here.

Now, the point one is coming to is this. The then National Front party was the forth largest party in England by vote. A situation much played down by the establishment at the time. Other than to blame a handful of teachers and small shop keepers, for whipping up ‘thoroughly un-British’ sentiment. We now now that far from being un-British, said sentiment was and is nobly patriotic.

Here’s the kick. Back then, you couldn’t find hardly anyone who admitted to voting NF. They had gone beyond the pale, so to speak. It was something they had to do ‘on the sly’. And there you have it. If anything, UKIP support is well underestimated, as one is sure we will discover to our delight next week.

Thank Your Grace for pointing to what may represent a most dangerous flirtation of the Conservative Party. "Dave" brutally put down those former party members who objected to his SSM campaign, so let us now see how he reacts to these distortions of the word, "Conservative".

You are absolutely right to differentiate between racialism or racism, which asserts that some humans are superior simply by virtue of their race, which is not true, and the necessary selection and rejection of undesirable practices associated with particular nationalities, cultures or groups. I have no difficulty, per se, with the law abiding from other countries who respect our national history, and therefore values, whatever their colour. But I resent the established party leaders foolishly allowing in those who wish harm to my society or to change it into something which is alien, possibly even anathema, to most of us.

The left uses the word "racism" as an undefined stick with which to beat to death any well thought out reaction that they do not like, just as the meaningless, deliberately manufacture word "homophobia" is used to silence thoughtful, well reasoned argument against SSM and its effects on the wider society. It is well nigh, time indeed that the reasonable right and middle took back the moral high ground, rejected meaningless terms designed to force us into a corner, repudiating these bullying tactics based upon tactics of false "shame", and standing up for truth, reason, and faith.

Your communicant is perplexed, Your Grace.

He had always assumed that the Labour Party, with so many of its former constituents replaced by Muslims, would be the first to become a franchisee of the Muslim Brotherhood. But now it seems that thanks to the enlightened thinking of its quasi-proprietor, Lord Ashcroft, the Conservative Party has decided that the end justifies the means, or in modern parlance, 'whatever it takes'.

Principle is being trumped by power and the Conservative Party will sell its soul to Islam if need be.

Ashcroft is clearly past his best; UKIP now has an open goal before it.

Great post Cranmer -

Politicians of all shades, insist on burying their heads in the sand; they seem to have forgotten that the mass media is no longer where people are getting their news. The blogosphere and social media channels are making access to opinion, expression and 'real' news, so much more credible to Jo Public than ever before. There will be no going back to the days of keeping us in the dark by reliance on the talking-heads on TV or off-shore media moguls.

They [politicos] are completely behind the curve on technology and information-sharing and public perception, which may be just the remedy for a ailing 20th Century democracy and demographic now long passed its sell-by date.

Let UKIP batter them and hope they burst the Westminster Bubble. Let the Scots scare them out of their complacency. This Country's would be representatives of the people needs to wake up - they can and will be booted out.

I'm tempted to write 'For the times they are a changing'and leave off there - well maybe - I can live in hope anyway.

Manfarang old fellow, one has lost confidence in any and all of the current Lib-Con-Lab Westminster setup. On the topic of the EU, it does appear that any prospective party candidate for either of the three needs to be pro the thing, and to have form accordingly. It’s damn mandatory, and so is still singing the discredited multi cultural hymns. Anyway, they’ve all spent the last two decades stealing each others policies, so does it really matter which one of them takes the helm – hardly. We are going to end up the most populated country as it is, large parts of it where English is the second or third language, with second rate public services rationed.

We can only thank Cranmer in his tireless pursuit to point out the failings of our system. The solutions seem simple enough. One wonders if there are any other communicants or observers of this site who have been so profoundly affected by what he has come out with that it has altered their political allegiance....

But before that, one was holding out because he knew that Cameron was NOT the Conservative party. How could any metropolitan be. Conservatism is of the soil – if you can’t see the soil for concrete, you’re in a bit of trouble.

Sadly, one must conclude from Newham and the party’s unwise centralisation and candidate list imposition, Cameron IS the Conservative party now. Him and the rest of the metropolitans in charge of the thing.

Yes I think that you may be right. At this stage in the journey towards restoring our national independence and democracy, the wretched MS media are still, often rather lamely, trying to make out that supporting Ukip and speaking your mind, being generally honest, is a bit naughty, or not quite (and I hate the word) respectable. Was Jesus Christ respectable I ask ?

This is because decades of deliberate brainwashing, particularly from the BBC, has given many an unhealthy dose of liberal guilt, simply for being British, patriotic and Christian, either culturally or by conviction. This really needs rolling back and the sooner the better. If faced down I believe that eventually it will simply go away, since it has no power other than that of creating fear in its victims. Indeed it has little true intellectual basis and certainly even less of a spiritual foundation.

So there may well be many who are too timid, for the time being, to openly state that they intend voting Ukip. Perhaps they simply want to keep the peace in their neighbourhood, place of work, club, church or even family. However when high turnouts are reported then more and more closet patriots will reveal themselves, one hopes.

Interestingly the recent sustained relentless and often quite immature attacks on Ukip, singling them out for censure when all parties contain their fair share of loonies, has only served to strengthen the Ukip membership, welding them into a more determined bunch than ever. Even reasonable members of other parties, those with an average sense of fair play and common sense, are speaking out against the endless and tedious acres of newsprint usually relating, breathlessly, what are little more than quite petty points being written up as "journalism" in mainstream papers, all in hopeless attempts to besmirch Farage or some aspect of Ukip.

They must be getting exceedingly worried I think, seeing their monopoly on politics, driven by the three identikit parties, finally threatened. There is a sense in the air that they really have been found out this time. This cat will never be put back into its bag, I believe.

for [other] minority groups to gain positions of power and authority in our country.
Cameron has destroyed (possibly without the ability to ever come back) the party which one stood strong under strong leaders.

Their only canvassers will be in ultra safe seats where canvassing makes no difference. Conservative party central has switched off support in constituencies and implosion is a real possibility.

The immigrant communities who have been housed in ways that have avoided integration; and thus inevitably continue the political patterns of the countries from whence they come - without even learning much English. So patronage and corruption will become as normal here are they are in Bangladesh or France or wherever. Such party loyalties are negligible and tribal loyalty is everything. George Galloway can surf in these waters with apparent impunity; the Conservative party will sail itself cheerfully onto the rocks.

When "Dave" bought into moral relativism, and all that it entails in terms of truth, family, society nations and faith, he imported the virus that is now destroying his own party. Maybe this is what a PPE degree at Oxford does for you, from an overdose of Foucault and his gang of destroyers, I am not sure ? But, clearly his leadership is a having distinctly negative effect, to put it mildly.

So the results of his leadership are very sad indeed. But it would be even more immeasurably sad, if mere sentiment about the past glories of the party that they once believed in, as voters, prevented the considerable numbers of still, genuine, fair thinking conservatives, ordinary voters, to allow their entire country to be dragged down by the moral confusion and poor judgement of a few at the top, by not recognising where belief in truly conservative values now most resides, in terms of the practical options available, in party terms. Hence the inevitable migration of many fiscal and social conservatives, formerly within The Conservatives, to Ukip; and the migration of many of the fine social conservatives, former Labour supporters, to Ukip as well. All are welcome as the party base visibly swells.
It may not be too ambitious to say that UK politics are undergoing a seismic shift, as the tectonic plates move relatively rapidly now. Indeed if it takes an earthquake and the odd tsunami, so be it. No one will die, but there will be political injuries I am sure. The career politicians must be ousted and patriots, people who respect the people, serving those that elect them, each according to their political persuasions, but not opportunists put in their place.
The Palace of Westminster must become, once again, The Mother of Parliaments, serving the whole nation. The tiny chink of light at the distant end of that long, hostile corridor patrolled by the cronies of the wretched EU shines slightly brighter. But there are still herculean tasks to perform. Farage's Peoples Army keeps marching, slightly more resources become available and many new recruits, from all sections of society, take the Queen's Shilling daily.

Communicants may be interested in a Wiki entry the Inspector has discovered. The Conservative Muslim Forum. And yes, you have to be a member of the Conservative party to join it.

Its nine objectives are commendable. In fact TOO commendable to have been the work of one or more muslims. Obviously foist on them by Conservative white men, one thinks. Anyway, that notwithstanding, it looks like there is some leeway for them to decide policies. Here’s one…

“wants the history curriculum taught in schools to be changed to give “full recognition to the massive contribution that Islam has made to the development of Western civilisation”. ‘Contribution’ ? Damn cheek. Don’t they mean ‘consistent attempt at invasion of Western civilisation’ or maybe they mean ‘jihad’ in general or perhaps the persecution of Christendom wherever they find it, including in the West. We also have…

“It also argues that Muslim preachers who advocate a rejection of democracy and its institutions should not be denied entry into Britain.”. Now that’s much better. What one would expect of them. Can’t have a Conservative-Islam tie-in without some Islamic thought, can we ?

There are some criticisms of the thing by a few notables. Melanie Phillips included. Any fellow who wishes to practice his ‘knowing smile / wink’ facial expressions could do a lot worse than to read them. Oh go on, here’s one then - “calls on the party to be more sympathetic towards Iran's nuclear ambitions”.

In conclusion, if you ever expected the slightest concession from the religion of peace, you know the kind - enough for us all to rub along just nicely - you won’t find it ‘hanging’, as the young people say, in the Conservative Muslim Forum.

Other than the now defunct NAZIs, the only other occasion this man has encountered as to what would be a futile engagement of a policy of give and take, is with of all things, the Daleks.

Uncle Brian @ 14.45, you raise a pertinent point about the bicentenary of the Battle of Waterloo in the context of the likelihood of Scottish independence. Here was an enterprise in which all components of the United Kingdom were gloriously represented, in an event that determined the future of Europe for the next hundred years. On current form the SNP would claim that the Scots were mere cannon fodder and refuse to recognise their nation's contribution. On the other hand there will be many Scots who would reflect with wistful pride on the sterling achievements of their forefathers that day; ditto the Irish.

Inspector, Happy Jack thinks the mind-set of many some people is still about the distribution, and the use of power, force and fear to get what you want.

Its an old theory. Initially, if weak, you establish alignments for protection and to advance your interests; then, as you grow in strength, you increase your power and others begin to turn to you.

This is how it was before liberal democracy here and it took us centuries. Today, in the West, the sources of power and force lie within the state who has a monopoly on their use. The state has to be infiltrated and the levers of democracy used to gain access to them.

Were the Daleks that bad? At least they made their intentions obvious and no moral summersaults with them.

bluedog, I knew nothing about all that. I thought of the British army as just being British, without going into the subsets. Thanks for the history lesson!

In respect of the article, this is one of the reasons why I'm struggling to bring myself to vote Conservative.

I am going to vote UKIP... but with a heavy heart. I am concerned about the antics of some of the members, e.g. the candidate who said pro-European politicians were traitors who should be hanged, the Farage meltdown of last friday and many other instances of gaffs. I'll vote for them on Thursday because the stakes aren't as high as in general election.

Can they be trusted with high office? That is what will focus my mind when it comes to 2015, where I will be far more cautious. Can they filter the gaff prone zealots & get better candidates out there. Our David Hussell, I think, would be a good choice.

Although things might be totally different if Scotland votes to leave the UK & Labour wins with Scottish MP's, whilst the transition or breakup is being horse traded (that is how a Union of 307 years will come to an end).

The Scottish referendum is being played as purely Scottish thing, but it will effect England as much, the Westminster bubble hasn't grasped that or that the only way to save the union is to legislate for an English Parliament. We are in for an interesting 12 months.

Couldn't Mr. Cameron appoint Mufti Shah Sadruddin as his spiritual adviser, possibly with Peter Tatchell as deputy spiritual adviser for those situations in which orthodox Moslem opinion is not yet quite diverse enough?

Loyalty to the Ummah trumps everything: nation, party - even tribe and family (think of all the honor killings). The Ummah has one collective mind, and that mind belongs to a seventh century psychopathic pedophile.

@ Bluedog

Do you think there were no Welshmen fighting at Waterloo?

@ Blogger David Kavanagh

You mentioned Scotland and England. What about Wales and Northern Ireland?

@ eanrobsville

Your comments are hardly likely to have a good influence on Moslems and make them more accepting of those British values that have been formed by Christianity.

Wales and Ulster have devolved assemblies, which is why I didn't mention them. Yes disunion will have incredible political impacts on Ulster, given the age old divisions there. As for Wales, I've already been beaten round the neck by Mrs K...who is WELSH. I've been sent to Coventry.

Roy @ 10.35 asks, 'Do you think there were no Welshmen fighting at Waterloo?'

Without question, and Englishmen too. But neither England nor Wales have yet left the Union. Most of Ireland did, and all of Scotland may. Hence the omission of England & Wales from my earlier post @ 23.00.

Subtle, eh?

Hi there,

I landed here from twitter and recognise the video.

You probably don't know ( or care) but that rally with Galloway was in the aftermath of a massacre by the Bangladesh Government of unarmed protesters in the dead of night last year.

Here are a few resources if case you wanted to follow up.
